Very depressive movie. Title is wrong--there is NO joy!! Movie shows Russians as bad people on purpose. People who made this movie obviously hated Russia and Russians. Do NOT waste 2 hours+ the time can be better spent! Seems they requre more about just how bad this loser is so here goes--there really is NO story just jumbled up scenes that don't seem to have any relation ship to each other! You simply can't follow what is happening or what has happened in the past or is it supposed to be flash back? No well known Russian actors or actresses as no self respecting Russian would play in this depressing loser of a film that seems to run great Russian motherland down !!

Well let's see an adult man alone with a 10 yr old girl even f he is well different!! Liberals would be all over that for the "possibilities!!" So glad they could make movies without people's dirty minds in those days!!

Simon is not smuggling illegal aliens to New York--he's taking them to the Florida Keys!! Simon is not injured by the Coast Guard--Andres. Is shot!! Simon takes him to the local house of prostitution to recover!!

Marie is Ana--the new Bond Girl--in her first role while she is still in film school! My favorite scene is about 50:00 on where she tries to seduce Simon wearing her pretty white lingerie! How could he resist her? Things get unsettling when Andres falls for her as well!!

Then she tries to seduce him wearing a see-through nightdress that leaves little to your imagination!!

Some people have criticized the new Bond girl as being too big an age difference for Craig!! Don't be so 'ageist' folks--ageism is primarily an American thing anyhow!! Ageism is just as bad or worse than racism or sexism!! Nobody can change their age any more than they can change their race or sex!! She's really only 20 years younger which is about average difference for Europe, especially Eastern Europe!

I watched this because Krzysztof Kieslowski is one of my favorite directors! When he passed the film world lost a great talent! But howsomever this is not his usual work!! The 3 colors I enjoyed but Heaven is moralistic trash!! The drug dealer DID NOPT kill her husband--her husband killed himself by being stupid enough to take hard drugs!! NO OTHER WAY TO LOOK AT THAT!!

This has to be the sickest movie in decades!! Starts nowhere & goes nowhere!! Big hit with liberals into inter-racial relationships as expected!!

Slow to start but doesn't drag! Not hard to follow if you get that the girl & Usher have a past from college! In the sex scene, it would have been more realistic if she had taken off her cute little panties & tossed them aside before she straddled him!! But I guess it didn't matter as he sure was a "minute man"--the whole sex scene last a little over a minute!! Overall nicely done!! Especially when played by a beautiful Polish ballerina!!

I'll have to disagree with most reviews that emphasize the niece/lover girl is so young, barely legal, much younger as so many say. The actress was 27 when the movie was made & she looks about that! And since age differences of 25 years+ are quite common outside USA, especially Europe, this is not considered 'shocking!'. Also it needs to be made clear if she is actually his brother or sister's daughter or a niece by marriage which, of course, is no blood relation at all! But I suppose even that would be shocking to Americans!

The first half starts slow but then you get the bonus of seeing lovely Lauren Carter slowly wander around this atmospheric mansion exploring while wearing a very sexy lace slip. There is no sex--even though in more than half of all movies where the actress wears a slip, she is getting ready to have sex or has just had it. It saves doing a nude scene. Lauren is a real doll in that she is only 5'1" which makes her appear innocent & vulnerable...notice I say "appear!" There is no clear answer as to whether this is a memory/dream or is actually happening NOW.

Maybe the story line is supposed to be that every man wants a fantasy life away from his wife? Or maybe the cities are supposed to be 'characters' in the story like in "Crime and Punishment?" If so, the cities are not given enough time or development IMHO.

Unfortunately if it's just cheating on the wife, that story has been done over and over so many times it's boring from the start no matter HOW you slice it!! A loser who tries to have 2 women & fool both of them! People make POOR choices & expect us to feel sorry for them? NOT!! Even though Poland is a 'catholic' country, most Polish women I met were taking the pill. So why did his girlfriend get knocked up? Just careless or stupid--then go over the border & get her an abortion? Then he can carry on his fantasy life with both if that's his choice!

I only got the movie because Budapest & Krakow are my favorite cities in the world!! Butin the end, the cities & their beautiful scenery are about the only redeeming feature!! BOTH cities are places you should visit!

This is a great film just to kick back and enjoy! Pretty straightforward and enjoyable! Haley ISN"T a child anymore but a grown up woman here! And guys I don't know about you but I could watch her walk around in that beautiful nightdress set all night! Why don't women wear such pretty gowns anymore? It's a real shame they stopped making such great things!! She is sexy just because she is so innocent but looking like she is wanting to lose that virginal state someone was talking about! Anyway this is long gone as is Crete of that day! But it shows it as it was before the tourists ruined EVERYthing EVERYwhere!! It's still a great place to visit but not in the summer, any of the Greek islands for that matter!

Even though she is not regarded as one of the main stars of this film, the telegraph girl carries this movie!! How much would the movie lack without her superb acting! She has a kind of worldly innocence such as the way she sweetly smiles all the while he lifts her skirt and pulls down her panties to stamp her bottom! You can tell she is enjoying herself VERY much.

And to act the way she does when the actress playing her mother parades her into the hearing is great! How many 20 year old actresses could look so innocent while having this woman lift her skirt and show everyone her bare behind. She looks so sweet, it is intensely sexy.

See the movie for what a great movie can really be! Then see it again for all the laughs!

Actually I'm surprised there were so many comments about this movie. I saw it as part of a Slavic film festival at a major American University. But nobody in USA has heard of it, which is a real shame! The dynamics between the people are what makes it both funny and sad. They are stuck together on a long bus trip--someplace most of us have been!! But I never had one like this!!

My favorite scene is the one where they stop for the funeral. Then the man & woman sneak off for some Lovemaking in the forest but everybody follows them to watch without them knowing! Just as she raises her skirt and he enters her all the way--the consumptive starts hacking & they realize everybody is watching!! Talk about surprised! But...you really have to feel for them even if it is hilariously funny! When you see the ending it is sort of ironic that they enjoyed themselves while they did! Serb humor at it's best!
