A Nightmare on Elm Street
(1984)

A Nightmare on Elm Street: The King of Horror Films
I am proud to say that A Nightmare on Elm Street is not only my favorite horror film, but my favorite film of all genres. What I love about this film is how deep it is. You really have to watch this film a few times to pick up on the deeper meaning of the film.

The effects are practical and perfect for its time. The score is unsettling and plain awesome. The script is solid. The acting is good. (There are a few scenes where Amanda and Heather fall flat, but the majority of their screen time is flawless). The direction is fantastic.

This is just the perfect horror film that is actually scary and not reliant on jump scares.

Any horror fan is sure to love it.

Halloween
(1978)

Halloween, 1978...The Night HE Came Home!
Halloween tells a simple story. A young boy, Michael Myers, murders his sister in cold blood. After being sent away, it's now 15 years later. There's no hope left in this boy, and his doctor, Loomis, (Donald Pleasance) devotes his life to making sure that he never is released, but on October 30th, 1978, he escapes from a mental institution and Loomis knows where he's headed, his childhood home in Haddonfield, IL. Once Myers is there, he stalks Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis), Annie (Nancy Loomis), and Lynda (P.J. Soles) before murdering them. Will Loomis be able to find Michael before they are all dead? The best thing about this movie is that it is so simple. It's not a complicated plot. It's pretty straightforward. There's no elaborate death scenes, they're simple. The suspense is phenomenal! You truly never know when he will attack and kill. This is a must see for all horror fans. It may feel dated, but it is still creepy to watch to this day. 9.5/10.

Epic Movie
(2007)

Horrible Movie
Just to begin, I'm not a picky moviegoer. I like stupid comedies, campy cheesy horror, I like anything. This movie is the only movie I have ever walked out on.

This is not even a comedy. It's just a bunch of nonsense. It's really that bad. I mean, I can't even describe how unfunny this is. If you are younger that 13 you will most likely find this movie hilarious. If you have any taste, you will not like this movie.

From what i saw of it, it's a bunch of lines that looks like they thought when they were writing it, "i bet some stupid teens will laugh at this and recommend it to their friends". it's obvious they were only thinking of a quick buck than to make a quality stupid comedy.

Black Christmas
(2006)

Black X-Mas: Entertaining
The movie tells the over the top story about a kid who grows up witnessing his fathers murder and being locked in an attic by his mother. He comes down on Christmas Eve and kills his mother and stepfather. 15 years later, the house is a sorority house and he's back to kill the intruders.

The original is a masterpiece, where as this is a mess. The characters are bad, the suspsense is bad, there are no pop up scares even. However, it is entertaining to watch due to its campyness. But for people who like straightforward horror, don't see this.

When a Stranger Calls
(2006)

Bland
This movie had potential to be a good little high school thriller. Instead, we got a bore fest about a whiny, spoiled brat babysitting. The problem was there were too many unnecessary things. A fight with the boyfriend, random friends coming over to be killed. It was obvious they were just killing time. The main character was bland and uninteresting. Camilla Bell had no emotion during this movie. She was just there. Another problem was the fact that the killer was not a threat. The children survive, so it's obvious they are going to let Jill survive. The only reason this got a four was because the last ten minutes (when the killer FINALLY comes out) is actually exciting.
