The Rocky Horror Picture Show: Let's Do the Time Warp Again
(2016)

This is to the original as.....
.....Pat Boone was to Little Richard. They did the same songs, but it was not the same thing. One was an original, and the other was highly manufactured and didn't feel authentic.

Not to say this was absolutely terrible, it is worth a watch, but nobody will be seeing it 300+ times.....nor should they

Less Than Kind
(2008)

A fantastic show for two seasons.....
......of course, it ran for four.

Not to say that the final two seasons were bad, but it lost a lot of heart after the passing of Maury Chaykin. The first two years, I would put up against any other dramedy out there, each episode had laughs, but it also had characters that you want to root for going up against some substantial obstacles in life, and it was never less than highly entertaining.

The latter two seasons, by contrast, seemed to lose some of the humour, and some characters became less likable. It is natural that the tone of the show would shift darker after the loss of a lead character, but it never seemed to get back to the same level as it was before. Still a good show, but it never had a chance to become what it once was.

As a result, I gave the show a 9 overall, would argue that it deserved a 10 for the first seasons, and an 8 for the last ones

Opera No. 1
(1994)

A fitting tribute to the memory of Adrienne Shelly
This is a very short mock-opera, very entertaining. Should be of great interest to fans of Hal Hartley, and the late Adrienne Shelly. It is fun, extremely quirky. The music, which I believe to be a Hartley original, is excellent, the actors look at though they are having fun. I found this on a compilation in Canada last year, Possible Films, which is a collection of short films from Hal Hartley, nothing against anything else on the disc, but this is by far and away the highlight of the disc. The basic plot is simple, there is only so much you can do in an 8 minute musical, but two muses set about to bring together a man and a woman, but there are roadblocks. I would highly recommend this to anyone and everyone.
