WOW what a great way to spend two hours on your backside - This is one of the greatest films ever made. I love all of it, Tim Robbins acting fighting the skinheads, teaching the inmates, helping with the guards finances, and digging the tunnel a wonderfully written part and a self crafted bit genius from Morgan Freeman made this film sparkle! GREAT FILM! please watch it... I think the prison warden looks like Graham 'turinp' Taylor the ex England Soccer Manager! funny - I love the shoes joke at the end very good. It did remind me a little of other films when Morgan Freeman leaves prison. But Tim on his boat at the very end is a smile raiser!

It is very difficult to talk about this film as a film. It is the beginning of in institution of gangSTAR films. Scarface has it going on but this is beautiful artisty combining actors that were Oscar winners and actors who went on to win Oscars! Al Pachino was incredible in depiction of a dark Amrerican come Sicillian... Marlon Brando was inspiring and I think made it very hard for Bob DeNero to measure up to. James Caan was very good and even the support characters were so well written and acted out it was brilliant! Along with this the music was also very good with the mix of Italian and American Swing. I loved it!

Best film ever... why;

Harry; Yeah I called her up, she gave me a bunch of crap about me not listening to her, or something, I don't know, I wasn't really paying attention.

Harry; According to the map we've only gone 4 inches.

Mary; So you'll pick me up tonight at 7:45? Harry; Well I got a few things to take care of. So how about we make it quarter to 8? Mary; Stop it Harry: Okay. 7:45

Need I say more... this film has it all comedy comedy comedy... that is all you need. I have heard people say that this film is just stupid, well they are right it is about 2 stupid guys doing a stupid thing in a stupid way and you just love them to bits for it... Okay it was not Forest Gump in the way Tom Hanks played the slow guy come good with what I would say was one of the best performances by any actor of all time but it was very funny. I almost swallowed my tongue, spat out my drink twice almost peed myself and watched it so many times I know the script even now 10 years on I still laugh it my friends eternal Harry and Lloyd...

It is a Hollywood rarity when films end with the objective of the main characters is met without meting it. Like in Cool Runnings, the guys gained respect of the other competitors even though they did not win. In Apollo 13 the guys did not make it to the moon and Tom Hanks did not step foot out of his craft onto the lunar bedrock but he did win the attention so craved from the US people and those around the world. I think this movie contains a message to all of us, we do not need to reach the goals set for us by others to be happy. All in all a decent flick and a rock steady performance from Tom Hanks as Usual... This was not great for the geeks who like to find out about facts and figures but I like the fact that it really makes you feel for the guys and want them to get home safe. The little old lady is my fave character she clearly has no clue about whats going on... a solid 8/10 from me.
