I can't believe I watched this! In part 3, the Superintendent says to Claire: "Get down off your cross"
Exactly.
And, BTW, only martyrs need watch this painful mess.
One, long, drawn-out look at Claire's face after another and not a face with any depth - she had only one, pained, expression!
The real pain was ours. Believing, like the kid expecting a pony for Christmas ... there must be something in this pile of ... well, drivel, we continue to watch.
But there's no pony.
This series was bad on every level-writing, acting, directing. As an aside - the supporting cast was good - they deserved better.
Example of one unnecessary waste of time - daughter missing, obvious target of the killer, cops tracking her phone, cops rushing from all over the city, she's in terrible danger ... uh ... call her?! Oops, just another red herring!
I rushed through episode 3 - nothing there. Wedding scene - what the frick???
Finally, after far, far, far too many more red herrings, a killer discovered ... Claire, the martyr, arms outstretched in front of the his car. I laughed out loud!
BUT ... it's not over yet!
We, the martyrs, cry out ... please just end this mess!
And it did .... end in a mess!
Horrible on every level - writing, acting, directing, casting of the leads.
Oh, why didn't I trust the reviews AND my instincts?? I tried to watch this once before. Opening scene, interminably long run, with "Claire" ...yuck ... nothing to see here ... and my instinct was right.
Well, to my credit, I didn't believe anything could be this bad - but it was worse.
At the end, you'll wish she'd get shot - but no such luck. Poor John.
Honestly, you'll wish you could shoot her!
I need a stiff martini!
