Stranger Things
(2016)

Great show
All seasons are enjoyable and interesting. Season 4 finale was different and unexpected, & I think thats a credit to the shows smart writers. All the best shows should make it unpredictable at times- then it helps to keep the story fresh and the momentum alive- if its the same plot every season then its never going to get any better. Im looking forward to whats instore next season.

Elvis
(2022)

Nothing special
Tom Hanks portrayal is annoying however Austin Butlers impersonation is good. The story told from the perspective of a conman who leeched off Elvis for the majority of his career was never a good choice in my opinion. Wish it had more heart and Elvis' life and achievements celebrated in the way he deserved. Costumes are fantastic but the blending of modern rap music with the kings rock was another bad choice.

Can You Keep a Secret?
(2019)

Urrghh
Can you keep a secret...hmmm, more like can you stay awake. I finally woke up to write this. This movie is a wonderful alternative to sleeping pills however.

Normal People
(2020)

Well done
Great acting from the 2 leads, and although the story slows down at times throughout the series, it suits the sensitive themes explored. I enjoyed the book and this series equally. It is heavy emotional content, but the acting and the writing makes you feel everything they feel. So good.

Halt and Catch Fire
(2014)

Brilliant
Every character in this underrated show is interesting, driven and tortured, especially Joe MacMillan. Lee Pace is fantastic in this series and I could not stop watching it. One of the best series I have watched in a very long time. Its a shame it didnt get the recognition it deserved at the time it was released but hopefully theres a future cult following for this piece of treasure sometime soon.

I May Destroy You
(2020)

I may annoy you
This seriousness of the subject matter explored in this series did not make me feel uncomfortable or emotional. Rather I found myself feeling irritated and impatient for the ending so I could finally be rid of these overly self consumed characters. I guess quirky writing which includes showing empathy towards your rapist is supposed to be carthartic release. Way too pensive and unrealistic for me sorry. This series has been way overhyped in my opinion. Meh.

A Discovery of Witches
(2018)

Tedious & Lacking
This series is so slow. Matthew Goode is wasted talent. A show full of supposedly scary witches, vampires and demons but nobody is scary at all. They somehow made 8 full episodes about a chick, a vampire and a book of life. There is definitely no life in this series.... and no I wont read the books, I have hair to wash.

The Cutting Edge
(1992)

Good fun
Everything is fun about this movie. Great chemistry between the actors and they use their constant insults as foreplay. The skating scenes are alittle too edited but the movie is more about the romance so you accept and move on.

Meet Me in St. Louis
(1944)

Sublime
One of the best movies of all time. Judy Garland was such a great performer.

Bridgerton
(2020)

Entertaining self righteousness
Beautiful costumes, sets and actors but story is lacking and quite boring at times. The chemistry between the two leading actors is good and their light conversations are fun and entertaining. Only downsides are the preachy social sermons, unrealistic boxing sessions and the constant adult lecturing to a kindergarten boy...

Control
(2007)

Dark & Harrowing
I was totally absorbed by this dark film - Sam Riley was chillingly good and made me feel the pain. Its such a heartbreaking story.

The Mandalorian
(2019)

About time...
Thank goodness for Jon Favreau! Mando and Grogu are exactly what star wars fans needed. Finally someone who understands the importance of Luke Skywalker and depicts him properly in a story. The series is great and hopefully it continues to satisfy. Makes it alittle easier to forget those 3 appallingly bad movies of late...

Pride and Prejudice and Zombies
(2016)

Fun and Refreshing
This version was so entertaining and unique. Lots of chemistry and good acting but the story felt overly edited, rushed and alittle muddled in parts. Definitely can forgive those bad aspects though seeing it was a different adaptation that worked well and managed to keep the period look, romance and comedy from the novel.

Pride & Prejudice
(2005)

Omg that wig...
Keira Knightley's wig is so ill fitted and annoying....Its almost as bad as this entire adaptation.

Nine 1/2 Weeks
(1986)

Fascinating
Such an underrated film about the games people play. Adore the ending. They definitely dont make films like this anymore.

The Bodyguard
(1992)

Interesting and entertaining
This movie is enjoyable and the soundtrack is amazing. Cant understand why people would find this film boring- maybe cos it doesnt contain CGI and its not based on a comic....

Pasión de gavilanes
(2003)

Telenovela perfection
If youre a fan of the telenovela then this will tick all the boxes for you. Its a pleasing story and contains all the craziness, romance, action and sloppy kissing you would expect. It does have its tedious and morally questionable moments, but its a light hearted colombian soap opera that is not meant to be taken seriously.

Pride and Prejudice
(1995)

Nothing else compares
Forget the other adaptations, this one is the best. Jennifer Ehle and Colin Firth are amazing. Its timeless and sincere. It depicts all the great moments in the book effortlessly.

Valley Girl
(2020)

Really?
Do yourself a favour and watch the original movie. 80s teen movies were far better and these dull silly hollywood remakes only suffer more by comparison.

Warrior Nun
(2020)

So slow
Starts off well, then after 20mins in it starts to slowly put you to sleep. Lots of random chit chat, ever changing accents and weird singing sessions, but hardly any warrior action. ....Definitely a series perfect for nuns.

Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker
(2019)

Disney at their best
No originality, un-inspiring and underdeveloped characters, recycled plots and strategically placed porgs. Eventually Disney ruin everything....Mission accomplished. Let the merchandising begin.

The Lobster
(2015)

Not for everyone
I found this offbeat, weird and totally brilliant. This may not be for everyone but definitely a movie you wont forget. Highly recommended.

Destination Wedding
(2018)

Witty and entertaining
I enjoyed the randomness of the conversations throughout this movie! They are so funny together ...and while some may find it a touch pessimistic and predictable, the quirks of the characters balanced the movie out.

Bohemian Rhapsody
(2018)

Fantastic Film
Another prime example of just how out of touch and irrelevant critics opinions are today. This is an awesome film and Rami is incredible.
