Surprising ending. But Riley kept making poor choices till the very end. He told Erin he loved her yet he chose to traumatize her with his last action; he told her that he knew she would probably turn back and try to save the island's people, yet he didn't even try to help expose the darkness fooling those people; and he also could have sunk that tiny wooden boat with his bursting into flames stunt. I understand that he was tormented by his selfish decision that led to that poor girl's death, but he had a chance at a little redemption by saving other people's lives including his own mother, father, little brother and the woman he claimed to love.
