We Want Our Mummy
(1939)

70 years later still great fun
This is an excellent Stooge short from 1939. Curley was still at his prime now. Only a few years later will show is illnesses. There are so many priceless expressions from Curly in this short especially when he hears this echo on his own voice 2 times and the third time the echo's voice from Moe's! There are some really good stunts in this short as well. One with Curley's stunt person falling backwards into the well and then towards the end, the three villains all fall into the well at once. Great to see Bud Jamison and James Morton. Real good sets too....lot's of lifelike Egyptian features. Trivia: 1952 was not a kind year for some of the cast. Curley Howard, Dick Curtis and Eddie Laughton all died in 1952. All in all this is a classic Stooge short highly recommended for a couple of good laughs. You can now find in on Hulu.com and watch it on your computer. All in all this short is great fum from 70 years ago

The Naked City
(1948)

Great Scenes from New York City in 1948
This is a great Film Noir movie which I enjoyed very much. My favorite part is watching all the 100's of people on the streets on New York City not having a clue that the are immortalized in this motion picture. I love to freeze frame the street scenes and view how life was like in 1948. So many surprises, for example in the phone booth scene, notice the two men peering out the window in the store across the street. I think those guys were aware of the filming, but as the scene continued, they went back to serving their customers. Just plain magic. There is also a cool goof in this film. Note during the train station chase scene, just after Frank runs by, the director or a film crew member turns towards the camera and yells what I believe is "CUT"...So Fun....I'll see again and again and again!

Alum and Eve
(1932)

Real Fun
I saw this short for the first time on TCM and have watched it many times since. Thelma Todd and Zasu Pitts are hilarious as a team of goofy gals trying to get away from speeding by pretending Zasu is ill and needs to go to the hospital. The entanglement of bodies at the hospital scenes are a hoot if not a bit erotic for the time. Note stunts such as the blanket over the crouches acting as a rolling bed was duplicated by the Three Stooges. Hal Roach at his best...a must see for fans of early 1930's shorts. I read Thelma Todd's bio here on IMDb and was saddened to hear of her early and intimely death. I look for ward to seeing her in more shorts and features. I understand she played in a lot of the Marx Brother's films.
