Hermanas
(1998)

From the golden days of "Spanish Sitcoms"
The 90's were the best years of Spanish sitcoms. Each episode lasting roughly one hour (but they might increase in length if they were successful enough in the following seasons), these shows covered most of possible situations in Spain. The episodes combine humorous plots with serious social dramas and soap opera. These shows would also gravitate around well known Spanish actors accompanied by new talents.

Hermanas was one of these products, and carries out all of these characteristics. The set up is a nunnery inhabited by an ever decreasing number of sisters. Their life will change when they "adopt" a bunch of homeless kids. The youngest nun, the novice, (who is the true sister of another nun, both in the show and real life) will bring the soap opera both in the conflict between her vocation and her feelings for a college friend, and in her relationship with her sister.
