The first one they made is actually good.
It's a sequel kind of plot but it works. The songs are fun and Iago as the sort-of protagonist makes it feel pretty fresh.
Formidable and flavorful as they evoke Arabia again but also for many impressive sequences like in the cave and what Genie Jafar can do.
It's great to get a proper look at Genie Jafar.
The girl is hot and likable over all even though they gave her a white-trash name for some reason. That carries over from the first movie.
I have personal beef in case you haven't noticed.
So yeah, if you're gonna so one of the straight to home media projects...

Reviewing these movies can be a pain because they're just good and in the way you expect so here's a list of things I liked.
I'm sort of doing the opposite but the same for what I did for Inspector Gadget 2.
The carpet has no dialogue or face but still has so much personality in its movement.
Genie is so much fun.
That girl is 16 but looks 20 but you'd lover her either way.
Aladin's a theif but he he only steels what he cannot afford.
Very Arabiany.
Not one bad song.
It's hard to make CGI among traditional animation not look sort of messy but they managed it.
Excellent villain.
And his chemistry with the parrot is swell.
Those women in the beginning don't like Aladdin because he's poor. And they dislike his poverty because they're hookers. I needed that to be pointed out to me.
My early childhood was a lot of things. School, getting scolded, friends, bathtime, spending time with my family and enjoying this on VHS more times than I can count.

Is this the best of the Princess movie? I'm a sucker for Frozen but I grew up on this. What little boy of the '90s hasn't seen this like 50 times?
It's the narrative of believing in yourself and following your own path, not the one set by your xenophobic parents as you try and be with admittedly a person you don't know well enough to change your body for but I can empathize with the desire to be with someone from another culture.
Ariel is cute, has the right personality, the happy medium of attire and water physics on her hair just cannot be beat.
Then there's the music and the red-blue-green oceanscape.
