• This movie is amazing in it's exploration of the collapse of nihilism. A man gives up or has taken from him all the trappings of a "normal" life. He runs off the cliff hoping this new freedom will allow him to fly but he falls. He falls fast and can't face the inevitable consequences. William H. Macy gives a great performance. The Mamet dialogue is unmistakable. It isn't his best writing, in my opinion, but deserves to stand with the rest of his body of work. Mamet is needling again at what makes a "good" man and how much a character can get away with before the audience's view of the character changes. If you are a fan of the writer, director, or William H. Macy, then I think you will like this movie.
