In the vein of the Beatles' collaboration with Richard Lester (Hard days Night) we have here a spoof of American Spy genres of the period (Matt Helm et. al. ) and political lampoon.
The actors were members of a then popular comedy group called 'Les Cyniques' (the cynics).
This film was an attempt on the one hand to capitalize on their popularity and create a movie that would find a wide market in the Quebec forum and on the other hand bust through Hollywood's strangle-hold on the Canadian Film Distribution Market...
Artistically it was a so-so failure. the jokes are stale and the formula was stolen from people who did it better. The comedy was crass and the low budget is all too apparent.
