  • Warning: Spoilers
**SPOILERS** With the news that the "Bowery Boys" favorite singing telephone operator Gloria Williams having quit her job to look after her ailing mother they, or Slip, come up with this bright idea to have one of them entered into the neighbor armature boxing championship with the winning prize being $2,500. The exact amount Gloria needs to pay for in home care for her mom. It's the powder puff and sissy like Sach who gets the unenviable assignment to duke it out in the boxing ring! That's something that Sach, who's a lover not a fighter, needs as much as a sudden attack of appendicitis!

It's with the help of professional hypnotist Mr. Raymond that Sach is gotten into shape by having him, under hypnosis, transformed from a harmless and scared kitty cat into a ferocious and fearless Bengal Tiger in the boxing ring! Using the name of Sach Sullivan "The Bowery Bomber" Sach runs up a string of victories making him the top contender for the armature welterweight championship title where he's to meet the fast punching and dancing Billy Butterworth! What Sach Slip as well as everyone else involved in the big match, with the exception of Butterworth's mobster handlers, don't know is that Billy Butterworth is actually the top contender for the middleweight crown Ray Tesil! Tesil had his face rearranged, by plastic surgery not left hooks jabs and right crosses, so that no one not even his mother could even recognize him! It's now up to Sach while being put into a hypnotic trance by his good friend and manager Slip with his magic genie, a 1913 quarter, to do the impossible! Beat a seasoned professional top ranked prize fighter in the ring with nothing more then armature prize fighting talent!

***SPOILERS*** It's when Sach starts to look like he'll win the bout by taking everything that Butterworth could throw at him without backing down that Buttrworth's manager mobster Bull Laguna calls in for reinforcements in the person of "Evil Eye" Fagin to put the whammy, with his 'Evil Eyes", on Sach before he puts his boy, Billy Butterworth, away in the ring.

It's Sach's fellow "Bowery Boys" Bobby & Whitey who neutralize "Evil Eye" Fagin's goggle eye stare by flashing a flash camera in his face putting him, and his "Evil Eyes", out of commission! As it turned out all that wasn't needed since with Billy Butterworth being exposed by former "Bowery Boy" Gabe Moreno, who just happened to be Gloria's boyfriend, as professional boxer Ray Tesil who's in turn disqualified by the boxing judges. Despite all that Sach didn't really need Gabe's help since he in a double knock out was able to do the job in knocking Butterworth out all by himself!

P.S Actor Sammy Cohen seemed to have burnt, or strained, himself as well as his eyes out in the role of the eye popping "Evil Eye" Fagin in that he never made another movie in the 35 years he lived after his role in "Mr. Hex".
