Review

  • Zelda Samson is Dalva, a twelve-year-old girl who is removed from her home and sexually abusive father. She is placed in a home for troubled kids. One of the other girls is there because her mother is a prostitute who services clients in a room next to her daughter's. This is not a Disney movie.

Samson is present in virtually every frame of this film and she is absolutely riveting in the lead role. Everyone else is pretty much just window dressing.

The social workers have a hell of as time convincing Dalva that she has been brainwashed by her father into confusing a sexual relationship with love.

Dalva is easliy one of the best films of 2022.
