Upon Beth Easton (Christina Ricci) moving back into town in Oregon along with her single mother, Kate Easton (Polly Draper) she would then eventually make friends with a rebel and tomboy, Jody Salerno (Anna Chlumsky) who is coincidentally lives with her single mother, Lynette Salerno (Diana Scarwid) is in search of treasure as a result of the so-called mythical book, for the intention to solve the mystery of "Bear Island" by the legend of Molly Martin.
Plays like a kids book with the tone that is similar to "Goonies" but with less excitement.
