Former Saturday Night Live cast member Melissa Villaseñor is opening up Owen Wilson’s time as guest host on the NBC late-night sketch show.
The comedian has impersonated the Wedding Crashers actor on her YouTube channel and sketches for Más Mejor. Villaseñor recalled that when Wilson hosted SNL’s Season 47 premiere in 2021, she brought up the idea of impersonating him alongside him, but he denied the request.
“He hosted, and I asked him if we could do the Owen impression together,” Villaseñor said on Dana Carvey and David Spade’s Fly on the Wall podcast. “He was like, ‘I feel like it’s done. I feel like people, it’s over.’ He didn’t want to do it.'”
The story prompted Carvey to remember a dinner with Wilson, Lorne Michaels, and Kevin Nealon, “And it came up in conversation and he didn’t like when people did him, and so I said,...

Back in the early 1990s, when they were still in their early-to-mid 20s, Vince Vaughn and Bill Lawrence met at a low-stakes poker game hosted by a mutual friend in Los Angeles. Vaughn had yet to rise to fame alongside Jon Favreau in the buddy comedy film Swingers, and Lawrence, then a standup comedian, was still years away from co-creating Spin City, the ABC sitcom that starred Michael J. Fox (in his final role before disclosing his Parkinson’s diagnosis) as the astute deputy mayor of New York City.
Over the years, as their paths continued to cross at social events, Vaughn and Lawrence would keep tabs on each other’s progress. Vaughn became one of the most bankable stars of R-rated comedies in the late ’90s and 2000s, headlining box-office hits such as Wedding Crashers, Old School and Dodgeball. The last decade saw Bradley Cooper shifting to more nuanced and complex projects, which allowed him to put his dramatic chops to display, and has now scored a total of 12 Oscar nods, 4 of them being for acting. However, if it wasn’t for one 2009 comedy that put him on the map, the actor might’ve never transitioned into the prolific A-lister he is now.

Jennifer Aniston may have married only twice, but it hasn’t altered her dating history by any margin. While Brad Pitt and Justin Theroux were the two lucky lads who could tie the knot with her (even though both marriages didn’t work), Vince Vaughn was included in her long list of lovers. But even when it didn’t work, the couple split their ways on amicable terms.

Vince Vaughn knows who he is by now. He excels at playing the motormouthed scamp, a role he’s perfected over the past three decades in big-screen comedies like Swingers and Wedding Crashers. (The less said about his ill-advised detour to play a somber crime boss in the misfire that was Season 2 of True Detective, the better.) He’s back in his wheelhouse here, and in fine form, as the star of the new Apple TV+ mystery comedy Bad Monkey, premiering this Wednesday. (I’ve seen the first three episodes.) It’s a sleazy, sweaty Florida noir with a cast...

It’s been nearly 30 years since Vince Vaughn first exploded onto movie screens as Trent, the slick, confident best friend to Jon Favreau’s Mikey in Swingers, who was forever convinced that a trip to Las Vegas could solve any emotional problem. Age comes for all of us, so it seems appropriate that in his latest role, as Florida cop Andrew Yancy in Apple’s Bad Monkey,...

As the star of everything from “Swingers” to “Brawl in Cell Block 99,” “Wedding Crashers” to “Freaky,” Vince Vaughn has made an impression on moviegoers that looms even larger than his 6’5” frame. Be it comedy or horror, on the big screen or small, his performances often feel oversized but always exude a lived-in authenticity, which is why so many of them have endured as stand-outs and staples of the genres he’s explored. And yet, when facing an honor commensurate with his impact on the entertainment industry, a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, Vaughn reacts a bit more like a shrinking violet than you might expect.
“I get shy somewhat with these things,” Vaughn tells Variety. “I was fortunate years ago to be included in a Mann’s Chinese [handprint ceremony] and that was out of nowhere — and very nice as well. But it’s definitely something that is nice...

Vince Vaughn believes Hollywood execs are too cautious nowadays when it comes to financing the type of R-rated comedies that launched his career.
Vaughn — known for comedy films such as “Swingers,” “Old School” and “Wedding Crashers” — shared his thoughts on the decline of raunchy R-rated comedies during a recent appearance on “Hot Ones.”

Vince Vaughn is convinced studios want to “overthink” comedies nowadays, especially ones without an IP to fall back on.

While Vince Vaughn hasn’t disappeared, he has arguably been away from the spotlight for a number of years. Producing and starring in films nowhere near as popular as his early comedies “Wedding Crashers,” “Dodgeball,” and “The Break-Up.” His dramatic portrayal of a crime lord in the second season of “True Detective” was poorly received. But to be fair, critics and audiences alike unfairly scrutinized a series coming off a monumental first season that was a game-changer for the anthology crime format.

Bradley Cooper's image has changed a lot over the years. From "A Star is Born" to "Maestro," today's Cooper likes to play roles that are more complicated and introspective. But before he could go for the artsy roles that showed off his range, he first had to make a name for himself as the confident jerk. He played an over-the-top dirtbag boyfriend in 2005's "Wedding Crashers," and an irredeemable cheating husband in 2009's "He's Just Not That Into You." If you wanted to cast a mean dude for the audience to hate, mid-2000s Cooper was your guy.
That's why "The Hangover" in 2009 was such a good transitional role for him: he was still playing a selfish, opportunistic person, but his character Phil had a heart of gold underneath that rough exterior. It was difficult to get a rapport in the beginning with Vince though, because my eyes met his belly button, he’s so tall.

Netflix is ready to tee off with Will Ferrell.
In his first scripted TV comedy series, Ferrell will star in a scripted comedy series titled Golf. The streamer has picked up 10 episodes of the series, which is co-created by Ferrell, Ramy Youssef — who will also have an onscreen role — and Josh Rabinowitz (Babes, Ramy, The Carmichael Show).
In Golf, Ferrell will play a fictional golf legend. Details on Youssef’s part are being kept under wraps though sources say the show isn’t a two-hander. (Netflix also stresses that Golf should be capitalized, though it’s unclear if it’s an acronym.)
Youssef and Rabinowitz, who previously teamed for Hulu’s critically praised comedy Ramy, will serve as showrunners and exec produce Golf alongside Ferrell, Jessica Elbaum and Alix Taylor for Gloria Sanchez Productions. After a decade and change playing superhero in the Marvel Cinematic Universe sandbox, Robert Downey Jr. wants to remind everyone there's more to him than Tony Stark. In the years since permanently (?) retiring his MCU alter ego in "Avengers: Endgame," the actor has lined up an ambitious slate of projects. Between getting an Oscar for his supporting role in Christopher Nolan's Best Picture-winning "Oppenheimer" and pulling a Peter Sellers by tackling multiple colorful characters in Park Chan-wook and Don McKellar's "The Sympathizer" miniseries, it's fair to say Rdj the character actor is officially back.
As chance would have it, we're now 10 years removed from the last time Downey tried (but failed) to renew his acting bonafides with "The Judge." Directed by David Dobkin, the 2014 drama stars Downey as Hank Palmer, a big-shot lawyer from Chicago who returns to his podunk hometown in Indiana to attend his mother's funeral.

Hollywood actress Isla Fisher is no stranger to comedy. She has been a part of a number of memorable films in the genre including Wedding Crashers, Confessions of a Shopaholic, and Hot Rod. You would think Fisher would have gotten used to the occasionally bizarre requirements of the genre and the lengths that actors will go to for a laugh.
But as it turns out, the actress was not prepared for one particular scene involving an elephant in the movie Isla Fisher made with her then-husband Sacha Baron Cohen, 2016’s The Brothers Grimsby. Cohen, of course, is known for pushing the boundaries of comedy like no other actor working today. Things got so intense that Fisher regretted bringing her parents on set to watch the scene being filmed.

Loki star Owen Wilson is still not letting O. J. Simpson off the hook for the murder of his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ron Goldman. Simpson was acquitted in the infamous trial that still has many people divided on the final non-guilty verdict. Wilson refused to star in the upcoming film, titled The Juice, which portrays the NFL star as innocent of the murder. The Wedding Crashers star was offered a boatload of money for the role.

Cohen and Fisher may have gotten married in 2010, but they actually knew each other a lot longer than that. According to Cohen himself, the two met at a party in Australia around the year 2000. “She was hilarious,” Cohen said. “We were at a very pretentious party, and me and her bonded over taking the mick out of the other people in the party. I knew instantly. I don’t know if she did.

Diano served as president of the Society of Camera Operators from 2003-04 before deciding not to run for a second term.

As “Curb Your Enthusiasm” prepares to bid farewell after a 24-year run and 12 seasons on HBO, star J.B. Smoove argues there’s one mystery left unsolved that he’d love to see get the spin-off treatment: What was Leon Black up to before he met Larry David?
“I’d be a fool to say I wouldn’t be open to a spin-off,” Smoove told TheWrap. “I think this dude has levels to him. We don’t know what he does when he’s not with Larry, we don’t know where he came from. I think there’s something to this guy that’s really interesting in how he sees things.”
Leon first appeared in “Curb” during Season 6 when he decides to take refuge at Larry and Cheryl’s house after his family is displaced by a hurricane — and proceeds to never move out. Over the subsequent seven seasons, he...

To combat the ominous atmosphere of the Ides of March, Netflix has another Lindsay Lohan film, “Irish Wish,” which is now streaming. The follow-up to “Falling for Christmas” in Lohan’s deal with the streamer to make two films, “Irish Wish” focuses on love, luck and a little bit of magic in the rom-com that arrives right before Saint Patrick’s Day.
Lohan portrays a smart book editor, except when it comes to matters of her heart. It takes a wish granted by a mystical woman out in the beautiful Irish countryside to get Maddie to realize that what she hopes and dreams for might not be what she wants or should want in life.
Featuring music from Lohan’s younger sister, Aliana, and a guest appearance from her brother, Dokota, the cast is stacked with other familiar faces as well. We’ve rounded up the “Irish Wish” cast and...

Owen Wilson is set to star in a comedy series at Apple TV+ set in the world of professional golf, Variety has learned.
The untitled series hails from writer Jason Keller. Apple has given the series a 10-episode order. Per the official description, Wilson will star as Pryce Cahill, “an over-the-hill, ex-pro golfer whose career was derailed prematurely 20 years ago. Both Keller and Wilson also serve as executive producers on the series. Propagate Content’s Ben Silverman will also executive produce along with Howard T. Owens and Rodney Ferrell, Entertainment 360’s Guymon Casady, Piece of Work’s Lee Eisenberg and Natalie Sandy, and Chris Moynihan. Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris will direct.
This is the latest TV role for Wilson of late.

‘Curb Your Enthusiasm’ Guest Star Troy Kotsur Reveals the Joke That Made Larry David Break Character
Note: The following story contains spoilers from “Curb Your Enthusiasm” Season 12, Episode 3.
Sunday’s episode of “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” titled “Vertical Drop, Horizontal Tug,” sees Larry David hit the golf course, where he eavesdrops on a lesson that improves his swing a little too well.
The lesson is given to Troy Kotsur, a deaf actor who is best known for his Academy Award-winning supporting role in the Apple TV+ film “Coda.” Through the rest of the episode, Kotsur’s feud with David intensifies as he’s hit in the back by one of Larry’s golf balls and later hit with a bagel intended for a homeless man.
To keep the narrative spontaneous, “Curb Your Enthusiasm” is shot without a script. Cast members are given scene outlines so they can improvise lines as they go. The actor opened up about how his prior experience in improv helped him make David...

"Wedding Crashers" and "Anchorman" star Vince Vaughn showed up during the big game alongside two of the greatest sports legends of all time: Tom Brady and Wayne Gretzky. The former Patriots quarterback and NHL hockey legend were seen alongside Vaughn in a BetMGM ad, which aired during this year's Super Bowl between the San Francisco 49ers and the Kansas City Chiefs. While the Chiefs won the game, the commercial was also a winner. But how is it that this became Vaughn's first Super Bowl commercial during his long career that spans more than three decades?
Vaughn recently spoke with Variety about the ad. The ad shows the actor — who is looking like his "Swingers" self in Las Vegas — telling the world at large that BetMGM is for everyone ... except Tom Brady. Why? Because the seven-time Super Bowl champion has won enough. Speaking with the outlet about why he decided to...
