Once Upon a Time cocreator Adam Horowitz, perhaps in a chipper mood because of the Yankees’ extra-innings win Friday night over the A’s and first-place standing in the Al East, took to Twitter on Saturday morning to share the titles for Season 2′s Episodes 4, 5 and 6 — each of which strongly points to a specific backstory.

Remember the Disney’s 1998 animated feature, Mulan, and its namesake protagonist? Well, she is another fairy tale character (we wrote about that a while ago) to appear in the upcoming second season of popular fantasy TV series, Once Upon a Time.
This time, she will not be sweet but clumsy pretty-face – she’s geared up and ready to do battle.
“I go on a journey with Prince Phillip to find his princess, Aurora,” teases Mulan’s portrayer, Jamie Chung (Sucker Punch). “There’s this evil spirit that’s moving and my character ends up bonding with Sleeping Beauty. And as you’ve heard, Captain Hook is joining us.”
So might sword overpower hook? “Definitely,” says Chung, who mastered her sword-wielding skills on ABC Family’s Samurai Girl. “If you compare the size and length of my sword to his hook, who do you think has the longer reach?”
That remains to be seen,...

Once Upon a Time fans aren’t the only ones gearing up for season 2! I hadn’t seen this image before and when I caught it accompanying a piece at TVguide I wanted to share it. It’s kind of a tiny look, but Jamie Chung looks battle ready here in her Mulan armor! As we told you last month, Jamie Chung is set to portray the legendary Chinese character (and subject of the fine Disney film from the 1990s) and it looks like she means business.
It’s not just for show either, Chung tells TVguide she has the goods if Captain Hook (Colin O’Donoghue) gets out of line, while they journey to find Sarah Bolger’s Sleeping Beauty (Princess Aurora) with Julian Morris’ Prince Phillip. Chung is familiar with action, having starred in Sucker Punch and Samurai Girl.

Since her days on "The Real World: San Diego" in 2004, we've seen Jamie Chung kick major ass in movies like "Sucker Punch," "Dragonball: Evolution" and television's "Samurai Girl," to name a few. But what we haven't seen? Chung handling mouthfuls of dramatic dialogue or "something smart," as she calls it.
Until now, that is. The gorgeous starlet is front and center in "Knife Fight," which isn't the action movie its title implies. The drama follows a political strategist (played by Rob Lowe) and his assistant (Chung) as they navigate a trio of election campaigns rife with cheating husbands, blackmail and even an actual knife fight.
For someone who began her career in reality television, Chung found she had much in common with her on-screen counterpart. She spoke to us during the Tribeca Film Festival about that connection, her favorite New York hotspots and if we'd ever be seeing her grace...

Zack Snyder's long-awaited cinematic mind-trip "Sucker Punch" finally hits theaters this Friday. At the center of the story are five women, all of them inmates at the fictional Lennox House for the Mentally Insane. They're also exotic dancers, and ass-kicking warriors as well. The film's most intense action unfolds in a sort of fantasy reality. The less said about it here, the better; what you need to know is that each of the five Lennox inmates get to show off their particular talents during these sequences.

Gersh talent agent Sarah Shyn is switching to management and joining 3 Arts later this week. I'm told Shyn’s departure from Gersh, where she worked for the past 3.5 years, was amicable. At Gersh, she represented mostly up-and-comers, including Dianna Agron (Glee), Jessica Stroup (90210), Olivia Thirlby (Bored To Death), Kyle Gallner (CSI:ny), Elijah Kelley (Hairspray), Jamie Chung (Samurai Girl), Aaron Yoo (Friday the 13th), Marshall Allman (True Blood), Ryan Hansen (Friday the 13th), Scout Taylor-Compton (Halloween II), Tyler Posey (Lincoln Heights) , Tony Oller (Gigantic). ABC Family has picked up Samurai Girl, which the cable network plans to air as a "major programming event" consisting of three two-hour episodes.
Samurai, from ABC Studios, is set to start production in the spring in Vancouver and is slated to air over one weekend in August 2008; the strategy is similar to one the network previously took with Fallen.
Samurai, based on a series of popular young-adult novels, centers on a 19-year-old Japanese girl named Heaven (Jamie Chung) who discovers that the wealthy businessman who adopted her as an infant is really the head of the Yakuza (the Japanese mafia) and had her beloved brother brutally murdered. She breaks from her family and begins training to become a samurai, and with the help of a group of new American friends, sets out to take down her father's evil empire.
Samurai also stars Brendan Fehr, Saige Thompson, Kyle Labine, Anthony Brandon Wong, Steven Brand and Kenneth Choi.
Samurai was brought to ABC Family through Alloy Entertainment, the company behind the series of novels.

ABC has picked up the light drama pilot The Middleman to series. Also picked up to series is an untitled drama project from 7th Heaven creator Brenda Hampton.
Sources said ABC Family also is ordering to series the pilot Roommates, subject to recasting one of the roles.
Meanwhile, the cable network has opted not to renew the drama series Wildfire beyond the current fourth season.
ABC Family also is said to be high on the pilot Samurai Girl and the sophomore series Lincoln Heights, but no decisions had been made by press time.
All ABC Family orders except the Hampton project are said to be cast pickups, with details about production schedules and launch dates in flux because of the writers strike.
Middleman, from writer-producer Javier Grillo-Marxuach, stars Natalie Morales as a twentysomething struggling artist recruited by a secret agency to fight comic book-type villains and Matt Keeslar as the title character, a sci-fi superhero who serves as her guide.
The Hampton project is described as a teen relationship series similar in sensibility to Juno. The show is said to have received a six-episode order.
