I was waiting for this episode for more than 120 days and actually I was so excited but it didn't satisfy my expectations. I expected so much more even though the episode wasn't that bad. we already knew that Amy would say yes to Sheldon so that wasn't surprising. Bernadette being pregnant was something that the writers had to put in the show because Melissa Rauch is pregnant and honestly this isn't so exiting because that's exactly what happened in season 10 and it's not a new story-line. overall it wasn't the best season premiere of this fabulous show, I hope the rest of the season would be a lot better than it's beginning.
  • The show has lost none of it's sparkle, Enjoyed watching the 1st episode of season 11 as much as any previous episode, The material reflects the age cycle that we all must endure, Still has the enthralling humour that captivated me in season 1. Long may the show keep developing rather than stay stuck in a 2006/7 time loop. The only aspect of the show that is unaltered since 2006 is the awesome comedy.

S11 starts the tenure of Adam Faberman, whose editing style is evinced in somewhat disconnected finales and an edgier turn to the characters that subtly abandons the lovability of several...mostly Sheldon. S11 & 12 have more moments when, in the context of the show, Sheldon needed a backhand. Overall, a step down.

There are interesting developments in this episode, for which I have expected for quite a few months now. I love to see how the characters have evolved over time, and that the story line emphasises these changes clearly as to not leave us bewildered. Many viewers expect the characters to stay exactly the same as before, while the story line has to be always new, and surprising, and such. That's rather an impossible thing to achieve since the characters have to evolve with the story line in order for them to fit into the current time-line. Take Sheldon and Amy for example, if they had stayed super nerdy as before, we would have never seen her be madly in love with him and him proposing to her (which would be part of a perfect ending that I'd love to see this show come to). If Howard never grew up and became mature, it'd be catastrophic for him to have a second child. The story line is very well written and makes me feel like I'm part of this show, with the evolution of the characters feels like my own emotional growth. Love this show and I hope to see better developments later on!

Sheldon makes an ass of himself (hard to imagine). Bernadette finds out she is pregnant. It's all pretty dull and formulaic with little real humor. As a matter of fact there is no humor at all about the pregnancy.

Aside from the proposal, the Amy/Sheldon storyline was awful. Sheldon could have been written as a doting fiancé, but he was written as a jerk. For Sheldon to be all mushy after speaking to Hawking, was not in his character either. I liked it better when Sheldon was painfully unaware of his eccentricities.

I so wanted Raj to have happiness throughout this series and it never happened except temporarily. To have Stuart going on a date and rubbing Raj's nose in it was sad to be honest.

The addition of Hawking to this episode was unnecessary, period. I get Sheldon idolizes him, but come on!

The best part of this episode was Howard & Bernie.

I do disagree that Penny & Leonard look like they are bored with each other. They look married and sometimes looking bored is the most comfortable part of marriage. It's love.

One of the worst episodes of TBBT, it was a total disaster for a lovely show. I mean it could not make you laugh, not a simple one. They should have finished it when they were on top. Peny and Leonard are acting very cold and artificial, seems they hate each other but have to come along. I loved Sheldon and Amy when they were both nerds, the writers made a huge mistake changing Amy's personality from a nerd girl to an emotional one. I personally hate Bernadette's character because she has ruined Howard as we knew him, a funny nerd with his idiotic actions. Raj's character evolved to the worst way possible, now he is completely stuck to other characters and basically is not funny anymore. I cannot believe this show with such brilliant ideas till its 5th season is now like this. It is just too painful to see there is no new story and no interesting event in their storyline. You can say the best character of this show is Stuart now since he is the same as he was before.

I loved the show in the beginning. There were nerds, the were funny insults, there was fun. Now it's just a soap-opera.

Now it's just a bunch of references to pseudo-science-things combined with a boring soap-oprea.

How do you keep a long-running sitcom going?

That's a huge question to answer, because over time we've seen that naturally the characters become a bit more OTT than they were in the early days, and the plots become less "this would happen" and more "this could happen". When in doubt, throw in weddings, pregnancies and then children we never see.

'The Big Bang Theory' was starting its eleventh year at this point, and ends up going down both the wedding and pregnancy route at the same time.

The results are a bit patchy to be honest, and it does feel like they've exhausted the 'Sheldon is a man child with not empathy skills' angle.

The cast all look a bit too long in the tooth for the shenanigans they are being made to play out, and perhaps this is the reason 'Friends' ended before their characters got to this point because there seems like there's very little new to say.

The best bit was Raj's scene with Stuart, that had some genuine heart to it.

    Overall, fair but not great.
