BritBox’s newest limited drama Douglas Is Cancelled has received a brand-new trailer, introducing Doctor Who’s Karen Gillan and Downton Abbey’s Hugh Bonneville as co-anchors of a TV news show. This marks Gillan’s first major scripted TV project in a long while, after starring in 2014’s short-lived sitcom Selfie.
The video features Bonneville’s titular character as he suddenly goes viral after being accused of making a sexist joke at a recent wedding he attended. The trailer highlights how Douglas and the news team deal with the consequences of getting cancelled online. This timely and provocative comedy-drama is also expected to explore gender politics and trial by social media. Prior to its BritBox debut, the series had already garnered a Tomatometer rating of 71% on Rotten Tomatoes, based on 17 reviews.

Douglas Is Cancelled centers on Douglas Bellowes (Hugh Bonneville), a popular TV presenter whose career is thrown into turmoil after a sexist joke he allegedly made at a wedding goes viral.
The controversy begins when a social media post claims to have overheard the remark, and though the tweet initially seems insignificant, the snowball effect takes over. What seemed like a minor indiscretion quickly turns into an all-consuming scandal that Douglas and his team must contend with.
As the news spreads, the series explores how Douglas and those around him react to the growing storm. His wife Sheila (Alex Kingston), a tabloid editor, and co-presenter Madeline (Karen Gillan) each play crucial roles in managing the crisis.
The situation spirals further as media outlets, public opinion, and corporate interests amplify the drama, turning a fleeting mistake into a much larger conversation about cancel culture and its immediate impact.

Have you ever heard about the Radleys, a family of vampires living under the radar in the human world, trying to keep their blood-sucking urges on hold? But, like all cravings, things get tricky, and it’s only a matter of time before their hunger pushes them to the edge. Unlike the classic vampire stories of Dracula, these vampires don’t just roam the night hunting for blood. They’ve learned to fit in. In “The Radleys,” directed by Euros Lyn and penned by Talitha Stevenson, Jo Brand, and Matt Haig, we learn how this family tries to control their urge.
The film’s packed with talent, too, featuring Kelly Macdonald, Damian Lewis, Sophia Di Martino, Steven Waddington, Bo Bragason, Jay Lycurgo, Shaun Parkes, and Madeleine Power. “The Radleys” is a refreshing take on the vampire genre—less old-school gore, more modern-day struggles.

The Radleys takes the vampire mythos in a new intriguing direction, but the horror comedy fails to stick the landing in its delivery. Technically speaking, the movie is fine. The actors deliver solid performances, and there is a central plot that moves the story along. But frustratingly, this movie's potential is squandered in terms of the actors involved, but also the missed opportunities in the plot that wind up being inconsequential side stories.

Steven Moffat has penned cancel culture comedy drama Douglas Is Cancelled. Here’s the trailer for the new programme.
Before Steven Moffat became known for writing some of the greatest episodes of Doctor Who, like The Empty Child/The Doctor Dances, The Girl In The Fireplace, Blink, Silence In The Library/Forest Of The Dead and then showrunning the Matt Smith and Peter Capaldi eras, he was a prolific comedy writer.
His first series, Press Gang, was a huge success and he followed it up by drawing on his own divorce for the fantastic, farcical Joking Apart. Though school sitcom Chalk was a misfire, his greatest sitcom success was Coupling, a tightly plotted ensemble sitcom that included one episode with half the dialogue in Hebrew and another in split screen, with several plots taking place simultaneously.
Moffat’s next series is comedy drama Douglas Is Cancelled. The synopsis reads as...
