Mickey Rourke, Actor or Boxer?
(1996)

An Unsatisfying Look at Rourke's "Lesser Years"
A friend of mine got a tape of this program from France. It's in Polish with bad subtitles and focuses on a portion of Mick's life while filming one of his 90's disasters. At the time I saw it, I felt so bad for the guy because his career seemed over. Now I'm sure I wouldn't feel so bad, but I doubt it would make the doc any better. They basically just follow him around as he sleeps his way through the filming of a totally forgettable movie and wrestles with the lingering thoughts of being a boxer. Thing is, it seems like he's basically decided not to be a boxer by the time this doc came out, so the title of the movie seems misplaced. Maybe if they had have shot this thing 8 years ago it would have made for an interesting idea - but not in 1996.

I've Seen Better Acting in Porno
I honestly feel bad for the people who made this movie. You can tell that they take themselves seriously and are hoping something decent will come of their efforts.

Unfortunately for all involved, including the viewer, all we're left with is an embarrassing excuse of a movie. I won't get into the plot - there's really no sense. As you can imagine, there's a bad guy, some good guys and a lot of kicking. The only interesting twist in this one is that the star is a woman, and she actually has some pretty decent moves, I guess. Her acting, if you can call it that, is beyond horrific, even for martial arts movies, and she doesn't have much of a supporting cast to help her out either.

Even if you are a martial arts movie fan, stay away from this mess. My girlfriend walked in the room when I was watching it and it literally took twenty minutes of viewing to convince her that I wasn't watching a porno. I'm not sure she's convinced to this day.

Ouch!
As many you will surely have guessed, this movie is terrible. You have your standard jokes here, the cup of bodily fluid, hot cheerleaders, and a lame rap-rock laden soundtrack. One question: I think Chevy Chase plays two roles, one of which is a frat-boy, Kip I think. Can anyone confirm this?
