Olivia Williams is opening up about her cancer journey and that she’ll never be cancer-free because of a delayed diagnosis.

The actress, who has starred in The Crown, The Sixth Sense, Dune: Prophecy and The Ghost Writer, among dozens of other projects, got candid in a recent interview with The Times.

Williams recalled visiting 10 doctors over four years, trying to figure out what was causing her symptoms, including aching limbs, fatigue and chronic diarrhea. After she was initially misdiagnosed with lupus and perimenopause, a doctor finally found a rare cancerous tumor in her pancreas.

“If someone had fucking well diagnosed me in the four years I’d been saying I was ill, when they told me I was menopausal or had irritable bowel syndrome or [was] crazy — I used that word advisedly because one doctor referred me for a psychiatric assessment — then one operation possibly could have cleared the whole...

Olivia Williams has described a years-long delay in being diagnosed with a rare form of pancreatic cancer, during which she says her concerns were repeatedly dismissed by medical professionals. In an interview with The Times UK, the British actor discussed her experience with VIPoma, a neuroendocrine tumor that affects roughly one in a million people annually.

“The Good Daughter” limited series adaptation at Peacock has added four new series regulars, Variety has learned.

Olivia Williams, Michael Dorman, Audrey Grace Marshall, and Drew Cheek have all joined the series, which is based on the Karin Slaughter novel of the same name.

The third season of The Wheel of Time is off to a fantastic start on Prime Video. The streaming service released three episodes last week, and they didn’t disappoint.

Although the show is scrambling the events from Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time book series a bit, these episodes did a good job of making that change relatively seamless without losing any momentum built up during the action-packed finale to season 2.

Without focusing too much on the differences between the books and the show, audiences can appreciate the visual smorgasbord the show delivers with aplomb. So far, The Wheel of Time is a prime example of how a quality fantasy story can be told on the small screen.

This week, Prime Video premiered the third season of The Wheel of Time, its sweeping epic fantasy series based on the books by Robert Jordan. Rosamund Pike has confirmed that The Wheel of Time Season 3 will make some changes to the book’s storyline, specifically delaying Rand al’Thor’s journey to the Stone of Tear. The new season, set to premiere on March 13, 2025, will follow Rand (Josha Stradowski) as he travels to the Aiel Waste before retrieving Callandor.

Pike explained that this adjustment was made to better translate Rand’s internal struggles to the screen. Instead of heading straight to the Stone of Tear, the show will send Rand into the Aiel Waste first, allowing him to discover his heritage and identity before obtaining the powerful sa’angreal. While the Stone of Tear remains an important part of the story, its placement has been shifted to better fit the TV adaptation.

The Wheel of Time made a name for itself as one of the biggest shows in the genre, thanks in no small part to the fact that it is adapting one of the most famous fantasy sagas of all time. But with its upcoming third season, the show will reach for even more ambitious heights. Season 3 is based on the novel The Shadow Rising, a beloved entry in Robert Jordan's book series which sees Rand al'Thor head out to the desert homeland of the Aiel people in hopes of winning their allegiance. It's a major turning point for the series, and it could be a major turning point for the TV show.

The Prime Video fantasy series, which premieres March 13, has released a full trailer for the coming season. It builds on a prior teaser and showcases the growing rifts among factions in the show’s setting of the Westlands.

Season three is based primarily on The Shadow Rising, the fourth book in Robert Jordan’s best-selling Wheel of Time novels. Last year, HBO tried its hand at making a Dune TV show: set 10,000 years before Paul Atreides was born, Dune: Prophecy told the story of Valya and Tula Harkonnen (Emily Watson and Olivia Williams), sisters who are in charge of the Bene Gesserit order during this early period in its history. The first season only lasted six episodes, but they were lushly produced, splendidly acted, and ended leaving fans wanting more. HBO will give it to them with a second season.

‘Dune: Propehcy’ is the latest expansion of the Dune cinematic universe. The show debuted as an HBO Original on November 17, 2024, after originally being planned for Max. It received a 70% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, with praise for the performances of Emily Watson and Olivia Williams but criticism for lacking the excitement of Denis Villeneuve’s films.

The show’s premiere attracted 1.2 million viewers, growing to 2.1 million the next day. By December 19, 2024, the premiere episode had drawn 15 million viewers across Max’s coverage areas.

Due to its overall successful launch, the show was quickly renewed for a second season, and now the star of the show, Emily Watson has provided us with an update regarding the start of the filming.

Watson said that filming for the second season will likely begin in the fall, but she doesn’t know anything about Valya’s story and is just as excited as the fans.

When renewing Monster for a third season last October, Netflix’s official release did not include any mention of when the next season would arrive which made many fans think there could again be a two-year gap between seasons; however, it seems that will not be the case.

In a letter to its shareholders released on Jan. 21, Netflix included many forward-looking statements including a look at the year ahead in which they promised to deliver an amazing slate for members. The letter not only touted many previously confirmed titles coming this year including new seasons of Wednesday, Stranger Things, Squid Game, and You, but also confirmed the next installment of Ryan Murphy’s Monster is also among the shows set to be released in 2025.
