Midnight movies list
Une liste de films Midnight movies. Le midnight movie est une catégorie de films souvent à petit budget diffusée dans les cinémas tard la nuit ou encore sur les chaînes de télévision locales aux États-Unis à partir des années 1930, des années 1940 et 1950. Le phénomène fut plus important à partir des années 1970 par contre avec des films s'éloignant du style du cinéma traditionnel issus de la contre culture. Ces films de différents genres allaient à contre courant de la culture hollywoodienne, mais connurent un certain succès populaire.Ces films dans certains cas sont audacieux, brisent des tabous, poussent à fond dans le mauvais goût, explorent la marginalité humaine et certains d'entre eux devinrent des classiques et films cultes qui redéfinirent la genre cinématographique devenant des références dans l'histoire du cinéma. D'autres films sont considérés comme de gros navets ou mauvais films. Nous pouvons considérer certains midnight movies et non pas tous comme étant des films de série B ou encore des films d'exploitation ou de série Z. La liste contient aussi quelques films (Qui ne sont pas nécessairement des midnight movies, mais en conservent un peu l'esprit où s'en inspirèrent ou encore inspirèrent le genre) qui devinrent des films cultes avec le temps bien qu'à l'époque où ils sortirent, ils furent des échecs commerciaux ou jugés douteux bien qu'ils obtenirent un succès à la fois commercial et critique.
