10 Best Horror Films of 1937

by nauru-1 • Created 11 years ago • Modified 7 years ago
With a change in ownership at Universal, a ban in Great Britain, and the genre waning a little in popularity, horror movies essentially went into hibernation for a couple years. Chillers suddenly became scarce, and the result is a challenge to form any kind of top 10 horror list. With lenient criteria, there's enough here, and this year fares better than its successor. This year is notable for some very early Asian entries into the genre.

Notable Films sometimes labelled as horror:
Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Night Key

Notable Films that didn't make the cut:
Ticket of Leave Man, Symphony of Lianhua, The Queen of Spades, The Super Madman, Witches' Night
