In the Spring, Fu, Kaoru, Norie, and Maon get promoted to third-year high school students, while Kanae has graduated. Two kouhai join the photography club. Even though they bring in new friends, their lively daily life remains unchanged. Yet, the four third-year students are slowly thinking about their own future dreams and paths as they face graduation in about a year.

Daisuke is an ordinary high school boy who also plays baseball. He participates in a cooking competition with several of other students including a girl called Miki who is from another school. Daisuke is soon into Miki, but one day the latter does not come to their regular practice.

Aki was a member of the soft tennis club back in Tokyo, but an incident caused her to leave behind her mother and older sister and move in with her father Masaya on the island. Aki and Tamako try to make a court on the campus of a shutdown school.

Secret auctions have been held for decades in Shinjuku, Tokyo, where people buy and sell babies. These exclusive gatherings accurately portray the selfishness and greediness of the various people who come to buy, or to sell. The film also focuses on minorities and the disabled who are championed by the Minister, Machiko, and the people in her orbit. Machiko's son, Akira, and Toru, one of her political supporters, are lovers. These two brave young men have decided to undertake the first same-sex marriage in Japan, despite a rigidly enforced legal ban on gay marriage. They are guided through this political and emotional minefield by Masaru, a hard-of-hearing lawyer who stands firmly behind them. Masaru is actually Minister Machiko's son who had been given to his mother at one of the very early Midnight Baby Parties. The film ends on a high note, celebrating Japan's first gay marriage.

Old Ji is an old farmer. He also runs a working exchange hostel in a valley. Jin is a backpacker. She travels to the hostel. Old Ji leaves the house to her and goes out for a few days. That night, Jin is totally alone. A Japanese girl suddenly comes into the house and push Jin away. Old Ji is in a hospital and takes care of a incapable young patient. He brutally treats the patient and carries the patient to an isolated island. When the clouds move over the full moon, the disabled boy suddenly stands up and starts to sing. As the puppet show goes on, Monkey King is fighting his own betrayed enchanted hair, and so does Old Ji and Jin.

Chikako Shida was born in 1910 in Ooisawa, Yamagata (now Nishikawa) as the eldest daughter of a prominent family. Her father Soujirou was the principal of a local elementary school and her mother died during a particularly difficult childbirth. At that time, Ooisawa had no doctors, and by the time they rushed her mother to a neighboring town it was too late to save her. Because of this incident, and recognizing that Chikako was a particularly clever child, Soujirou had early hopes that she'd grow up to become a doctor. Wanting to fulfill her father's wishes, Shida attended what is now Tokyo Women's Medical University. After graduating, she returned to Ooisawa where she devoted the rest of her life to rural health care.

Magical girl Minky Momo must use her powers to save a young prince from being captured by enemies of his country.
