Born in Mississippi, Bailess began studying classical dance at age four and competed in gymnastics, dance, and cheerleading. At 11 she began performing live on television as a dancer in the Miss Mississippi Pageant, which she continued for 7 years. After attending ballet workshops across the country, she won a scholarship to the Broadway Dance Center in New York and at Ann Reinking's Broadway Theatre Project in Florida. After focusing on dance and musical theatre at Marymount Manhattan College, she took the William Esper Studio's two-year intensive program.

Briana was born on October 23rd, in Los Angeles, California. Her nationality is American and ethnicity is mixed (Polish and Italian). Born to actor Greg Evigan, and Dancer Pam Evigan, raised with her two siblings, music producer Jason Evigan, and actress Vanessa Evigan. Allison was raised 20 miles south of Lake Erie, in the small rural farming town of Edinboro, Pennsylvania.
At the age of 14, Allison was discovered in a doctor's office by a model scout/agent. She started modeling in Toronto and spent subsequent summers in Manhattan. After completing high school, Allison moved to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to study Theatre at the University of Pittsburgh. She also then spent a semester abroad studying theatre in London.
Upon graduation, Allison moved to New York City where she landed roles in several Off Broadway shows. Soon after, she broke into television garnishing small roles on 'Rescue Me' opposite Dennis Leary and 'Stella' with Michael Ian Black and Michael Showalter. Allison then began dividing her time between New York and Los Angeles.
