Jack Luden's story is one of the saddest in Hollywood. He was born as Jacob Benson Luden in Reading, Pennsylvania, with a silver spoon in his mouth; his uncle was the millionaire founder of Luden's Cough Drops and he attended the finest schools on the east coast. But he was restless, possessing an impulsive rebellious streak and opted for an acting career. Against enormous odds, he won a contest to attend the Paramount Pictures' School of Acting on Long Island, New York in 1925 where he stood in good stead with classmates Thelma Todd and future all-American star, Charles 'Buddy' Rogers. Paramount ordered him to Hollywood the following year and he acted in various films both there and on loan to FBO during the sound transition period. His personal heyday lasted for about 3 years; his studio had faith and patience in him, and he earned enough money to indulge his passion for sailing, and bought a boat. Possessing good looks, passable voice and a degree of acting talent, he should have been on the fast track toward stardom but his studio faced hard times after 1930 and somehow Luden was lost in the shuffle. More seriously, he acquired a heroin habit (possibly as early as 1929) and found it impossible to keep it hidden. Released from his Paramount contract --- some accounts claim he simply walked out --- having never achieved stardom, Luden found himself adrift and was known to commit wholesale shoplifting to support his drug habit. His life between 1930-36 is largely a mystery. He apparently gave up any pretext of hiding his drug addiction. His father died in the mid-1930s and his immediate family, by what accounts there are, expressed dismay over his lifestyle. He was reputedly arrested several times during this period for petty theft, but details are lacking and there's no indication that anyone ever associated his crimes to his faded Hollywood career. Luden somehow managed to re-enter the film business and came to the attention of veteran low-budget Gower Gulch producer, Larry Darmour who rode on the coattails of Columbia's ascent out of the ranks of Poverty Row studios. Columbia boss Harry Cohn was loathe to ignore the profits to be mined in Saturday afternoon matinées and gave Darmour a unit. His features were budgeted at $100,000 or less and, typical for the era, he sought to brand his western stars, making them more easily marketable to kids. This was Luden's second and last big break. He was cast as "Breezy" through four productions in 1938. Relatively speaking, Columbia's western efforts were top notch entertainment compared to the cinematic gruel spewing from the likes of its neighbors along Gower (an arguable exception would be Republic, despite its far lower budgets). Whether Darmour or Cohn were initially aware of the extent of his drug addiction is open to speculation, but it's probable that his relative obscurity in Hollywood was initially considered an asset since his police record didn't prevent him from this last stab at stardom. In any event, Luden once again failed to click with the targeted audience and he was cut from Columbia. He ended his film career in the early 1940s making minor, uncredited walk-ons. He made a half-hearted attempt at forming a film production company in the late 1940s that went nowhere (given his reputation, it was likely a scam). Married three times, he turned to drug dealing to support his increasingly expensive heroin habit. It's easy to speculate how failing in Hollywood affected him, but the undeniable fact was that Luden was completely comfortable being a low-life; his favorite saying was "a crooked buck is sweeter than an honest dollar." Not exactly the desired credo of an actor who once aimed, albeit half-heartedly, to be a cowboy star and idol of children. He was arrested for possession and writing bad checks and was sent to San Quentin State Pennitentiary. Luden, ultimately his own worst enemy, died there 9 months into his sentence from a heart attack at age 49 in 1951.

Steve James was often cast in action movies as the hero's sidekick, despite usually being a better actor and fighter than the star. James was raised in New York City, attended C.W. Post College as an Arts and Film major, and upon graduating, became involved in stage work and TV commercials. He started in film as a stuntman, working in such New York productions as Ghostbusters, The Wiz, The Warriors, and The Wanderers. His first major film role was as Robert Ginty's sidekick in The Exterminator; he later played sidekick to such stars as Michael Dudikoff (3 times), David Carradine, and Chuck Norris. His last 2 films were the pilot for the TV series "M.A.N.T.I.S." which aired on the Fox network just a few weeks after his death at age 41 of pancreatic cancer and "Bloodfist V: Human Target" with Don "The Dragon" Wilson which premiered after Steve's death.

Olivier Gruner was born on August 2, 1960 in Paris. His father was a successful surgeon with his own surgery practice. One of his brothers also became a surgeon and his younger brother became an engineer. When he was 18 years old, he joined the Marine Nationale, volunteering for their Commando Marine unit, which are the Special Operation Forces of the French Navy. As part of his military training, he learned to scuba dive, sky dive and climb. Most of this time he was in Djibouti and Somalia. At this time he already trained karate. When he left the Marine Nationale in 1981, he went to the French Alps and started to train kick-boxing. He choose this place because he could ski, one of his biggest hobbies. After three years of hard training, he became for the first time French Kickboxing Champion. He defended the title two times and in 1986 he became the World Middleweight Kickboxing Champion. He had a job at the film festival in Cannes, where he put up a poster of himself. Two days later, a man came and invited him for test shoots to Los Angeles, which lead to his first film Angel Town (1990). He retired from kickboxing in 1987 to pursue a career as an actor. model and director. Some more, mainly martial arts, movies followed.

Gary Edward Daniels (born 9 May 1963) is an English actor, a martial arts artist, a martial arts action film star, a producer, and a fight coordinator. . Daniels who was also interested in films, starred in two motion pictures in 1988 made in the Philippines. These were Teddy Page's action martial arts film Final Reprisal (1988), and the jungle adventure, The Secret of King Mahi's Island (1988). Daniels returned to the US, and continued competing. From 1991 to 1994, Daniels was seen acting in several action and martial arts films, within those he had a supporting role in Albert Pyun's Knights (1993), and played an adversary who had showdowns with Jackie Chan in City Hunter (1993) and Don Wilson in Ring of Fire (1991), and Bloodfist IV: Die Trying (1992). On his own, Daniels was the star of the action films Capital Punishment (1991), American Streetfighter (1992), Firepower (1993), Full Impact (1993), and Deadly Target (1994).

In 1995, Daniels played the lead role of Kenshiro in Tony Randel's American live-action version of Japanese manga Fist of the North Star. The film had a notable cast that included Costas Mandylor, Isako Washio Malcolm McDowell, etc. From its release on, the film was widely seen on television and on home video. From that point up until 2001, Daniels, now an established action film actor, acted in many films mixed between action, martial arts, and science fiction. From 2004 on, Daniels took on more supporting roles, this includes the role of Ed Parker in the Bruce Lee biographical mini-series The Legend of Bruce Lee, with contemporary martial artists Mark Dacascos, Ray Park, Ernest Miller, and Michael Jai White. He is also known for his supporting role as Bryan Fury in the 2009 live-action film Tekken, and its 2014 prequel, based upon the popular fighting game series. Daniels acted alongside Jason Statham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Steve Austin, and Randy Couture in the Sylvester Stallone film The Expendables as Lawrence "The Brit" Sparks, an ally of the villain. Born on April 12th, 1978 to Roque "Rocky" (Father) and Rolee' (Mother) [having proud heritage and origins within the Sioux Nation, and Ooglala Tribe], James Azrael was destined to enter the music industry. Jon Korkes was born on 4 December 1945 in New York City, New York, USA. He is an actor and director, known for Catch-22 (1970), The Front Page (1974) and The Double (2013).

Joe Gilgun was born on 9 March 1984 in Chorley, Lancashire, England. He is an actor who first appeared in Coronation Street (1960) when he was only 10 years old. Later, he became known through Emmerdale Farm (1972) and the film This Is England (2006). He also appeared in its spin-off series This Is England '86 (2010), This Is England '88 (2011), and This Is England '90 (2015).

He then replaced Robert Sheehan as the lead in Misfits (2009) from the third series onward. He then managed to win another big role by starring as the vampire Cassidy in AMC's critically acclaimed drama series Preacher (2016).

Thom Christopher was born on 5 October 1940 in Jackson Heights, Queens, New York City, New York, USA. He died on 5 December 2024 in New York, New York, USA.

Daniel Boyd Payne was born in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada; however, he and his family were fortunate to have moved a great deal while growing up. The moves included towns and cities of all shapes and sizes. The travel afforded Dan and his siblings, brother Josh and sister Cathy, to become best of friends. This provided Dan with a sense of resourcefulness and independence that he is proud of to this day. It also helped him discover humor as a great tool to adapt to new surroundings.

Dan is a man of great stature and presence standing 6' 4" and weighing nearly 230 pounds. Despite being built for sports, education has always ranked highly for Dan who was an excellent student. He earned Honor Roll in Matriculation throughout high school years and was awarded scholarships to universities across Canada. Eventually settling at the University of Calgary, Dan embarked on his first career path as an athlete, playing volleyball for the U of C Dinosaurs. Sport at this level enabled him to travel Canada extensively and nurture a love for his country; as well as get bitten by the travel bug. The volleyball career was very successful and came to an end with a stint as a professional in Holland. During his years at university, Dan says he truly learned the most about himself and found great satisfaction dealing with people including coaching volleyball camps for special needs children.

Dan then moved from Holland to Australia for 4 years to join his brother Josh, whom he considers his 'life mentor'. Australia is where he became a professional photographer and reawakened his love of the creative arts. Photography quickly became an excellent 'side job' while he and his brother actively began pursuing his own path to their childhood dream of acting. This path actually began with stand up comedy and performing in shows co-written and co-directed by him and his brother! Inspired by his entrepreneurial-minded brother and ever-growing love of all things creative, Dan chose to take the next step. He chose to venture to London, England while his brother remained in Oz.

The UK marked the start of the traditional agent and audition trail for Dan and the beginning of the tremendous learning process involved with the entertainment industry. While in London, Dan continued to study acting as well as perform on stage and in film. Dan's realized that his unique size and accent were assets, and towards the end of his five years in London, found success which gave him the confidence and desire to return home to Canada. Armed with a greater sense of self and some foreign film credits, he returned home - to Vancouver, Canada.

Dan continues his efforts to constantly expand on his experiences in both comedy and drama, which only strengthens his life long passion for acting. Vancouver has been a dream come true for Dan. He has enjoyed many varied roles since returning home from lawyers to aliens to playing with the Muppets. Dan's career has continually enjoyed a growing success and shows no signs of slow down. He and his wife Daylon have two sons, Elijah and Grayson, born in 2008 and 2011, respectively.

"Irish" Jack O'Halloran was a rated heavyweight boxing contender in the middle '60s & early '70s. The 6'6" native of Runnemede, New Jersey, was considered one of boxing's most promising heavyweight hopefuls after he remained undefeated in his first 16 professional matches. O'Halloran went on to defeat former title contenders Cleveland Williams, Terry Daniels, Manuel Ramos and Danny McAlinden. In 1972 he won the California state heavyweight championship with a victory over Henry Clark. Scoring an upset victory over eighth-ranked Al "Blue" Lewis in 1973, O'Halloran was on the verge of a bout with Muhammad Ali when he was shockingly knocked out by Jimmy Summerville in Miami Beach, Florida. Even though he knocked out Summerville in the rematch, O'Halloran was never in contention again. He retired in 1974, because of a tumor of the pituitary gland, with a record of 34-21-2 with 17 knockout victories. He lost to future heavyweight champions George Foreman and Ken Norton. He achieved World ranking for several years and was the California Heavyweight Champion in 1972 & 73. He was also inducted into the California Boxing Hall of Fame and the New Jersey Boxing Hall of Fame. Following his retirement he launched a successful career as a character actor in such films as Farewell, My Lovely (1975), King Kong (1976), Superman (1978), Superman II (1980), The Baltimore Bullet (1980), Hero and the Terror (1988), Dragnet (1987) and more. He is a published author with Family Legacy.
