Armagh vs Donegal Ulster GAA Football Senior Championship on Sat, May 10, 2025 at St. Tiernach's Park, Clones. The All-Ireland champions take on the current Ulster champions in what is a repeat of last season's provincial final
Today's game throws in at 3pm and is being played at St Tiernach's Park in Clones. It will serve as the opening game of a double-header which concludes with the men's Ulster final also played between Armagh and Donegal.
"Hopefully, the Donegal fans turn up for our game too and don't leave it late to get out of the pubs. The tickets are for both games," said Donegal star Abigail Temple Asokuh in a plea for fans to pack out the stadium for both games.
The sides met in last season’s decider with Donegal winning on penalties thanks to Shaun Patton’s save to deny Shane McParlan.
It was the second successive defeat on penalties for Kieran McGeeney’s men having also lost out to Derry in 2023, but they regrouped and finished the season with the biggest prize of all and are the reigning All-Ireland senior champions.
Armagh are bidding for their first Ulster title since 2008 when they beat Fermanagh after a replay while Donegal boss Jim McGuinness is bidding for a fifth Ulster title in his second term in charge.
Then, at 5:25pm, at the same venue, Jim McGuinness' Donegal face Armagh for the Anglo-Celt Cup. Donegal won last year's decider on penalties, 6-5, after a 0-20 to 0-20 draw after extra-time. Armagh brushed themselves off the go on to win the All-Ireland SFC title, beating Galway in the final.
BBC2 NI are starting their coverage at 4:55pm, while RTÉ2 will show the match live on the Saturday Game, which starts at 2:45pm with the Leinster SHC match between Galway and Wexford starting at 3.15pm before the attention will turn to Clones.
The winners of today’s game join Mayo, Tyrone and Cavan in Group One and will have home advantage against the Red Hands in a fortnight.
The losers of the Ulster final enter the so-called ‘Group of Death’ and face Galway, Dublin and Derry in Group Four and face the Oak Leafers at home in round one.
