Going to the cinemas has always been a huge thing for avid movie-goers and nothing really beats the overpriced theatre popcorn. However, 2024’s themed popcorn bucket trend has added to that hype as fans rush to the big screen for more than just the movies.
Believed to have started after Dune: Part Two‘s questionable popcorn buckets, the trend picked up pace as others joined in the fun. Deadpool & Wolverine‘s risqué and suggestive buckets also made it to the list of Nsfw movie collectibles. Finally, Moana 2‘s tame popcorn bucket broke the curse set by its predecessors with its on-brand design.

At this point, we all know that for better or for worse, Lady Gaga loves going Method for her roles. She claimed that for her role as Ally in "A Star is Born" — the role that won her an Oscar for best original song thanks to the showstopper "Shallow" — she lived in the role for years. More recently, she changed her singing voice and walked the set of "Joker: Folie á Deux" as Harleen "Lee" Quinzel. In 2022, for the biopic "House of Gucci," Lady Gaga took "the Method," where you fully embody your character even when the cameras are off super seriously, and even spoke in an Italian accent for her role as Patrizia Reggiani. Apparently, she also refused to speak to one of her co-stars as a result of her approach to Patrizia.

Beetlejuice Beetlejuice Box Office (Worldwide): Update After 49 Days ( Photo Credit – YouTube )
Tim Burton’s gothic horror comedy Beetlejuice Beetlejuice keeps moving ahead at the box office even after being a commercial success. It was reportedly made on a budget of $100 million and is the highest-grossing film of Michael Keaton and Tim Burton’s actor-director duo. The Og cast members reprised their roles while many new faces, including Jenna Ortega, Monica Bellucci, and Justin Theroux, joined the fun ride. Scroll below for more.
According to reports, the sequel’s initial budget was around $147 million, but Warner Bros. asked the director to reduce it by almost $50 million. Burton agreed to cut the budget and bring it down to $100 million. The studio was also worried about the movie’s box office performance and wanted to release it directly on their streaming service, but luckily, things worked out, and the film was also a success.

Fans of Tim Burton’s quirky and gothic style are in for a treat with Beetlejuice Beetlejuice (2024), the long-awaited sequel to the cult classic. Opening the 81st Venice International Film Festival on August 28, 2024, the film reintroduces audiences to the Deetz family as they face Beetlejuice’s chaotic return. Three generations of the family are drawn back to Winter River after a family tragedy, only to find themselves caught up in supernatural hijinks when Lydia’s daughter stumbles upon a portal to the afterlife. In true Beetlejuice fashion, all it takes is someone to say his name three times, and mayhem is unleashed once again.
Starring a cast of beloved actors—Michael Keaton, Winona Ryder, and Catherine O’Hara reprise their iconic roles, with new additions like Jenna Ortega and Justin Theroux—the film blends nostalgia with a fresh take. Tim Burton once again masterfully blends his signature visual style with eerie humor and macabre twists.

Tim Burton’s Beetlejuice Beetlejuice (2024) revisits the whimsical world of the infamous trickster ghost with a fresh twist after 36 long years. Set in the present day, the film follows Lydia Deetz, now a celebrated psychic mediator and TV show host, who finds her life turned upside down once more by the mischievous Beetlejuice. This sequel introduces a new generation to the eerie fun, exploring Lydia’s strained relationship with her daughter, Astrid, and diving into the complexities of their familial bonds amid supernatural chaos.
Unlike the original, which focused more on Beetlejuice’s antics within a single haunted house, this installment expands the scope to include a blend of personal drama, new spectral threats, and a modern setting. The film blends Burton’s signature dark humor with deeper emotional themes, offering a fresh take while honoring the quirky spirit of its predecessor.

Rachel Weisz, the stunner, seems to still be holding a potential villainous role in the James Bond saga a possibility. Throughout her decades-long star-studded career, she has been seen delivering applaudable performances in commendable roles across action adventure masterpieces like The Mummy film series and classic thriller dramas like The Favourite.

But as much as she is loved for her heroic roles that saw her in a different light nearly each time, Weisz hasn’t eliminated the chances of her becoming a part of the same franchise of the peerless spy that her husband Daniel Craig earned worldwide recognition through. In fact, if anything, the actress confessed she was still prime to join the saga.

As a result, Bellucci holds the record of being the oldest actress to be cast in the role of a Bond Girl.

Tim Burton's new film "Beetlejuice Beetlejuice" has made over $153 million to date, which is surprising for a 34-years-after-the-fact sequel to an eerie, unusual comedy about unhappy rural ghosts (Alec Baldwin and Geena Davis) and the randy demon (Michael Keaton) they hire as a professional haunter. Keaton, Winona Ryder, and Catherine O'Hara return from the original film, now 34 years older and at new places in their lives. It seems that Betelgeuse still has randy, wedding-forward machinations at hand.
It's unusual that "Beetlejuice Beetlejuice" finally got made, seeing as how several "Beetlejuice" projects had deflated in the past. Back in 1988, when "Beetlejuice" became a hit, two "Beetlejuice" sequels were immediately commissioned, and Hollywood was abuzz with where a follow-up might go. Back in 1988, when "Beetlejuice" became a hit, two "Beetlejuice" sequels were immediately commissioned, and Hollywood was abuzz with where a follow-up might go. One of the original ideas was to be called "Beetlejuice in Love," written by Warren Skaaren, one of the first film's most active script doctors. That never-made film was to...

While Tim Burton’s Beetlejuice Beetlejuice is one of Warner Bros’ biggest theatrical success stories of the year, at over $264 million in worldwide grosses and counting, there was a period in the decade-plus the studio was mulling the sequel in which execs advocated for the film to go straight to streaming on Max.
However, “that was never going to work for Tim,” says Pamela Abdy, Co-Chair of Warner Bros. Motion Picture Group, in a new interview with the New York Times. “You’re talking about a visionary artist whose films demand to be seen on a big screen.”
But while Abdy and Co-Chair Mike De Luca, who assumed the top film posts at Warner Bros in 2022, were highly enthusiastic about getting the Beetlejuice sequel made, they knew its budget would have to come down, for a theatrical release to make sense. While Burton and team had projected a $147M budget,...

As a fan of “Beetlejuice” (1988), Tim Burton’s go-to costume designer Colleen Atwood initially found it daunting to jump into the “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” sequel and its kitschy world of crazies (originally designed by Aggie Guerard Rodgers). But having the sartorial freedom to add new characters (Jenna Ortega’s grungy Astrid) and expand the underworld (Monica Bellucci’s Victorian corpse bride Delores) made it a lot more enticing.
However, Atwood had the most fun working with Michael Keaton as the “ghost with the most” in his iconic black-and-white suit, burgundy tux, and a few other surprises. “On my first fitting with Michael, I went to his house, and he had painful knee surgery, so he was really brave to do a fitting,” the four-time Oscar winner (including Burton’s “Alice in Wonderland”) told IndieWire.
“We were trying on his clothes, and it was funny because he was kind of like an old guy,...

The sequel to the cult classic 1988 supernatural comedy Beetlejuice had finally hit theaters. After having his own Saturday morning cartoon, Broadway show, Universal Studios stage show, and even an unmade sequel, we finally get to see Michael Keaton, Winona Ryder, Catherine O’Hara, and director Tim Burton make their return to the wild and wacky world of the afterlife.
Here is the Beetlejuice Beetlejuice trailer.
Set three decades after the first film the Deetz family is brought together following the passing of Charles Deetz who was originally played by Jeffrey Jones (and does not appear here for reasons). Lydia, now grown up, is dealing with her disconnected daughter Astrid (Played by: Jenna Ortega) who doesn’t believe in the supernatural.
Meanwhile Delores (Played by: Monica Bellucci), a soul sucking ghost and the ex-wife of Bettlegeuse, is accidentally set loose and is on a revenge quest against her ex-husband. Beetlegeuse, still having feelings for Lynda,...

“This really is my first everything,” admits Arthur Conti. “Everything is so new to me.”
The young British actor isn’t exaggerating. When we meet at Soho House in London, he’s sporting the sort of wide-eyed expression of someone trying to come to terms with a couple of life-changing weeks that might be difficult to put into words.
For starters, Conti recently got back from the Venice Film Festival opening night world premiere of “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” alongside director Tim Burton and fellow castmembers Michael Keaton, Winona Ryder, Catherine O’Hara, Jenna Ortega, Monica Bellucci and Willem Dafoe.
“And also Sigourney Weaver’s there, and Isabelle Huppert and Taylor Russell and all these people watching me on a very big screen… and then there’s all this clapping … it’s hard to believe,” he says.
The disbelief is understandable. Because not only did Venice mark Conti’s “first ever film festival,...

[This story includes spoilers for Beetlejuice Beetlejuice.]
Clocking in at just under two minutes, the involuntary calypso dance sequence in the original Beetlejuice, during which Catherine O’Hara’s Delia Deetz leads her dinner guests in a lip sync of Harry Belafonte’s “Day-o,” is arguably the most famous scene from the 1988 film. An homage in the sequel was always a given.
But, for Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, director Tim Burton wanted to go even harder. The film’s climax includes another dance number — this one set to all seven minutes and 21 seconds of Richard Harris’ bonkers and much covered “MacArthur Park.” (Donna Summer’s disco-fied version spent three weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the fall of 1978.) It isn’t just another needle drop. It practically drives the narrative of the entire third act.
Screenwriters Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, no strangers to the Burton-verse with their massive hit Netflix series Wednesday, spoke with...

Now that Beetlejuice has come back from the dead for another box office run, Pop Mart (creators of collectible toys and figures) is introducing a new line based around the original film (Not the sequel; there are no superdeformed representations of Monica Bellucci here). There will be eight figures in the Beetlejuice line: Lydia, Regular Flavor Beetlejuice, Carousel Beetlejuice, Wedding Day Beetlejuice, Wedding Day Lydia, the Sandworm, and the Maitlands wearing their ghoulish disguises. “Whether displayed on a shelf or carried as a cherished companion, these figurines are a delightful way to connect with the beloved characters and countdown to the [new] film’s release,” says Pop Mart in a quote that’s a little too late. We should point out Pop Mart is a blind box company, and sends these out randomly in unmarked packages at $16.99 each. Odds for six of the figures are about even, but two of them...

This article contains massive spoilers for "Beetlejuice Beetlejuice." Don't say it a third time!
If there ever was a filmmaker who wasn't afraid to let his freak flag fly, it's Tim Burton. Years before the likes of Clive Barker, Guillermo del Toro, Edgar Wright, and other horror geeks began making films, Burton was infusing all of his short films and subsequent feature films with homages to all manner of horror film ephemera. Even though Burton has expanded and experimented with his personal aesthetic over the course of his career, he's never lost his horror nerd credentials. His latest film, "Beetlejuice Beetlejuice," is further proof of this, as it's saturated with all manner of esoteric elements, and not just ones involving horror films, either: Burton is also a big fan of alternative music and nostalgic kitsch.

Alien: Romulus has really hit a chord with the fans of the Alien franchise. The latest entrant into the much renowned franchise has went on to have quite a successful time over its almost month long theatrical run. All that in spite of having a young ensemble (albeit one which knew its task well), and one which wasn’t on the heavier side when it comes to budgets. So how did Alien: Romulus manage to overcome all the obstacles in its path? This might be down to how it superbly tapped into the horror that made the franchise tick. And one man might be perfect for taking the franchise forward in the right direction.

After a month of the same three or four movies dominating the box office, September kicked off with a hit sequel coming out 36 years after an earlier installment. Read on for the weekend box office report.
Although not every legacy sequel (as they’re now called) has done well, enough of them have been blockbuster hits that Warner Bros’ decision to reunite filmmaker Tim Burton with Michael Keaton, Winona Ryder, and Catherine O’Hara for “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” proved to be a genius move. Burton also brought along his “Wednesday” star, Jenna Ortega, as well as Willem Dafoe, Justin Theroux, and Monica Bellucci. After premiering at the Venice Film Festival, the sequel racked up mostly positive reviews with 77% on Rotten Tomatoes, and Warner Bros. gave it an ultra-wide release into 4,575 theaters, one of the top 10 widest domestic releases ever.

Tim Burton’s long-awaited sequel Beetlejuice Beetlejuice is off to a rip-roaring start at the domestic box office as if no time had passed between now and when the first film graced the big screen 36 years ago.
From Warner Bros., the first event pic of the fall season opened to a monstrous $111 million, coming in on the high end of expectations and even ahead of Sunday’s estimated $110 million. Whether it can successfully revive the franchise will depend on its staying power.
There’s also the question of overseas, where the original film didn’t play in theaters so doesn’t have the same nostalgic factor (it has developed some markets including the U.K and Australia). Beetlejuice Beetlejuice‘s foreign launch of $35 million from 69 markets is notably behind its domestic showing, but the hope now is that it picks up momentum after placing No. 1 in numerous territories, and also...

Did someone say Beetlejuice’s name three times? Either way, the mischievous demon triumphantly returned to unleash his mayhem at the box office.
“Beetlejuice Beetlejuice,” the sequel to Tim Burton’s 1988 horror comedy about a pesky poltergeist, scored a huge $110 million from 4,575 theaters in its opening weekend. Those ticket sales rank as the second-biggest September debut of all time, ahead of 2019’s “It: Chapter 2” ($91 million debut) and behind only 2017’s “It” ($123 million debut). All three of those September record holders belong to Warner Bros. “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” is also the year’s third best bow, coming in behind “Deadpool & Wolverine” ($211.4 million) and “Inside Out 2” ($154.2 million). The film delivered a needed jolt to the domestic box office, which was lagging after a hum-drum end to the summer season.
“Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” also debuted internationally with $35.4 million, bringing its global tally to $145.4 million. It cost $100 million to produce.

This week marked the return not only of Michael Keaton into the eponymous role of Beetlejuice in the long-awaited sequel "Beetlejuice Beetlejuice" (our review here), but the return of Tim Burton to the big screen. Though it's only been five-plus years since his last feature film — the unmemorable and unnecessary "Dumbo" remake for Walt Disney Pictures — it feels like it's been a lot longer since Burton had room to flex his unique visual muscles and deliver a distinctive film full of flair. But while Burton's movies are perhaps best known for their flights of fancy and dark whimsy, his filmography is also replete with memorable and rightfully beloved performances from some excellent actors, including Keaton. With "Beetlejuice Beetlejuice" about to dominate at the box office and boasting an impressive ensemble including some new actors, let's rank the 11 best performances in Tim Burton's films.

Tim Burton’s highly anticipated sequel to the 1988 comedy classic “Beetlejuice” had huge opening weekend numbers at the domestic box office. The new film, titled “Beetlejuice Returns,” brought in $41.5 million on its first Friday, including $13 million from previews on Thursday night. Studio projections show the movie could make over $102 million during its opening weekend. If achieved, this would make it the second highest grossing film for the month of September, second only to the 2017 thriller “It.”
“Beetlejuice Returns” sees Michael Keaton reprise his memorable role as the ghostly trickster Beetlejuice, along with returning cast members Winona Ryder and Catherine O’Hara. The sequel introduces new characters played by Jenna Ortega, Justin Theroux, Monica Bellucci, Arthur Conti, and Willem Dafoe. The story follows Lydia Deetz and her family as they return home after a loss, only to discover Lydia’s daughter Astrid has inadvertently opened a portal to the afterlife.
Early audience reactions have been very positive.

The inner child is alive, moderately well and kicking in Tim Burton’s febrile imagination but the “juice” is beginning to wear a bit thin.
Fans of the 1988 original will not be deterred - way back then it was a camp and fun surprise orchestrated with a sense of the macabre and self-mockery by Burton, who clearly was going places and certainly did not disappoint.
Now it appears he is raking over the coals 36 years on and trying to recapture the ghoulish magic. To a degree he succeeds especially with Monica Bellucci’s Delores as a ghost who has been hacked to pieces and is lying dormant in boxes. The sight of her stapling her pieces together including a face that has been cut in half, is a sight to behold. Made whole again she proceeds to suck the souls from the dead.
Burton pieces together the components with a demonic.

“Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” jumped in the line and earned $41.5 million from 4,575 locations across Friday and preview screenings. That’s the second-biggest opening day ever for a September release, only falling behind 2017’s “It” ($50.425 million). It’s also the biggest ever for director Tim Burton’s career, landing ahead of the $40.8 million opening day of “Alice in Wonderland” back in 2010.
That’s a triumphant kick-off for the decades-brewing legacy sequel, produced at a budget of $100 million. And for Warner Bros., it’s a much-needed, unmitigated hit. Whenever a classic movie of a bygone era is brought back for continuation just for nostalgia pandering, one of two major problems tend to crop up the most. One, the newer entry turning out to be a total imitation of the original, lacking its individual identity, and the second being a total overhaul of narrative, tone, and treatment, to the point that there exists no similarity between the original and its successor. Fans of the first Beetlejuice movie feared the same could happen with the sequel, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, which takes place after a significantly long gap from the first entry—and even with director Tim Burton returning at the helm, the apprehensive feeling was not easy to shake off.
However, much to fans’ delight, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice manages to retain the haunting, sarcastic, zany goodness of the first movie, as Tim Burton’s gothic dream is perfectly manifested once again by...

Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, the loooong-awaited sequel to Tim Burton’s beloved 1988 classic, is a bold attempt to recapture the magic of its predecessor. With original stars Michael Keaton, Winona Ryder, and Catherine O’Hara reprising their roles, Burton reunites with his eccentric creation, hoping to evoke the whimsical macabre style that defined his early career. Yet, despite a healthy dose of nostalgia, quirky visual effects, and Danny Elfman’s unmistakable score, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice falls short of its potential, delivering an uneven, overstuffed Halloween romp that’s more style than substance.
The film picks up 36 years after the original, with Lydia Deetz (Winona Ryder) now a famous TV ghost-hunter and mother to rebellious teenager Astrid (Jenna Ortega). Lydia, still haunted by her past encounter with Betelgeuse (Michael Keaton), finds herself drawn back into the Neitherworld when Astrid unwittingly becomes trapped in the afterlife. Astrid, duped by a local boy named Jeremy (Arthur Conti...

“Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” is bringing some beloved characters back to fans, but the sequel is also introducing a few fresh faces — relatively speaking, considering they might be dead.
Once again directed by Tim Burton, the sequel takes place 30 years after the original, bringing the Deetz family back together for Charles’ death. At this point, Lydia (Winona Ryder) is fully grown with a daughter of her own, who discovers the mysterious remnants of Beetlejuice left in the attic.
We won’t spoil anything here, but we will give you a rundown of who’s who in the “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” cast and the characters they’re playing, old and new.
Beetlejuice (Michael Keaton) Warner Bros.
The juice is loose yet again, and he’s played by Michael Keaton once more. Keaton is, of course, perhaps best known as Beetlejuice and Batman, but you’ll also from “Spider-Man: Homecoming,” “Spotlight” and “Birdman.”

The return to Winter River granted by Tim Burton’s Beetlejuice Beetlejuice will revisit some familiar faces from the 1988 film in addition to introducing new ones. Of course, the juice wouldn’t be loose without Michael Keaton returning to reprise the titular demon. Winona Ryder and Catherine O’Hara will also bring back the Deetz family in addition to Jenna Ortega’s extension as the newest member — Astrid Deetz.
Other newcomers to the sequel include Willem Dafoe, Monica Bellucci and Justin Theroux. Unfortunately, Geena Davis and Alec Baldwin won’t appear in the sequel, and director Tim Burton explained why. Davis also offered a theory about why her Barbara Maitland and Baldwin’s Adam aren’t in the sequel.

A lot of people must be saying his name three times, because Beetlejuice is taking over the box office.
The long awaited sequel “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice,” directed by Tim Burton and starring Michael Keaton, Winona Ryder and Jenna Ortega, has made $13 million at the box office so far in Thursday previews.
The horror comedy is ready to take over the box office, after a slow end to August, with an estimated $100 million to $110 million opening this weekend. That’s a scary good debut, since the film carries a production budget of $100 million. However, Warner Bros. is predicting a softer opening around $90 million — but many box office experts are predicting it’ll cross the $100 million mark. The film could even land among the biggest opening weekends ever for the month of September, putting Beetlejuice shoulder to shoulder with Pennywise the Clown in 2017’s “It” ($123 million opening) and 2019’s “It: Chapter 2” ($91 million...

The Juice is on the loose.
Tim Burton’s long-awaited sequel Beetlejuice Beetlejuice grossed a promising $13 million in Thursday and Wednesday previews at the North American box office.
The Warner Bros. event pic is on course to deliver one of the biggest September openings of all time with anywhere from $90 million to $110 million in its domestic debut, based on tracking data and advanced ticket sales. Tracking services show the film opening to $100 million-plus, but Warners is erring on the side of caution.
Beetlejuice Beetlejuice delivered the second-biggest September preview number of all behind fellow Waners’ R-rated blockbuster It, which took in $13.5 million on its way to a $123 million opening in early September 2017, not adjusted for inflation. It, based on a Stephen King novel, remains the record holder for biggest September opening. (Beettlejuice Beetlejuice can claim the biggest September preview number for a PG-13 title).
