Once said Soapdish (1991) is her personal favorite of all her films.

In the 80s, while not making movies, she took a stake in a West Hollywood sports bar. Later, there would be restaurants and nightclubs. Her most successful venture was co-ownership of the Mulberry Street pizzeria chain that began with one branch in LA. Early on, she worked front of house. Her fiancé and business partner, pizza restaurant owner Richard Palmer, left her for Raquel Welch after he and Raquel met in October 1997 at Ago, the West Hollywood restaurant owned by Robert De Niro.

Irish-American. Her parents are from County Kerry and County Cork.

Gave birth to her twins (her 1st & 2nd children) at age 39, a daughter named Catherine Patricia Gentile & Joseph John Gentile on September 11, 2000 in New York City. Catherine is older by 3 minutes. Children's father is her 2nd husband, Joseph Gentile.

Has appeared in three films with Robert De Niro: Raging Bull (1980), Cop Land (1997) and Analyze That (2002).

Gave birth to her 3rd child at age 40, a daughter named Annabella Rose Gentile on November 15, 2001 at Good Samaritan Hospital in West Islip, New York. Child's father is her 2nd husband, Joseph Gentile.

She has dual US and Irish citizenship.

Was Arne Glimcher's first and only choice for the role of "Lanna Lake" in The Mambo Kings (1992).

Received an Academy Award nomination as Best Actress in a Supporting Role for her first feature film, Raging Bull (1980).
