Back in 2005, the new series of Doctor Who, aired a fairly good, notable episode called “Dalek”. It focused on a single dalek, retrieved by an egotistical man who wants to use it to his own ends, who is isolated from the rest of his “species”, believes himself to be the only survivor of his race, and is pitied by the Doctor’s fairly new, female companion.
“The Silver Turk,” one of the most recent audios by Big Finish, is a fairly good episode. It focuses on a single cyberman, retrieved by an egotistical man who wants to use it to his own ends, who is isolated from the rest of his “species”, believes himself to be the only survivor of his race that’s currently on Earth, and is pitied by the Doctor’s new female companion.
So, yeah. It’s got that vibe going on.
