In 1989, a film with a bonkers premise was released in theaters and became one of the highest-grossing films of the year. Look Who's Talking, by writer/director Amy Heckerling, helped launch John Travolta back to Hollywood stardom, but it was a project that almost didn't happen. Look Who's Talking is a romantic comedy with a basic plot: Mollie Jensen gets pregnant after she has an affair with one of her clients. On the day of Mikey's birth, Mollie jumps into a taxicab, and the driver, James, is mistaken for the baby's father. After a while, he becomes Mikey's father figure, babysitter, and Mollie's lover.
Sounds like a regular comedy, right? Well, it isn't. From the conception of the fetus, viewers listen to the precocious thoughts of the baby. No one else can hear the baby but the audience, who are treated to none other than Bruce Willis' voice as the baby.

David Cronenbergs The Fly is a bonafide body horror classic. The new film will not be a remake, despite sharing the same title, but instead an original film set in the same universe as Cronenbergs.
Per Deadline, American director Nikyatu Jusu has started development on The Fly, which she wrote and will direct for 20th Century Studios and Chernin Entertainment the studio behind the Planet of the Apes reboot trilogy. Nikyatus The Fly is based on Cronenbergs horror masterpiece, though the plot remains heavily under wraps. In a world of remakes and reboots, however, it is refreshing to hear that the project will simply be set in the same world as the original. The announcement comes in the heels of a body horror popularity resurgence, with the success of Coralie Fargeats The Substance which won at Cannes and has garnered a great deal of award buzz for star Demi Moore.

When it comes to body horror, one director has frequented the genre more than most, and one of his greatest movies of the 1980s is coming to Hulu on October 1. The Fly is one of David Cronenbergs most memorable movies, and also one of the greatest remakes of all time. Just in time for Halloween, the gloriously gory horror starring Jeff Goldblum and Geena Davis will find a home on Hulu, where a new audience can discover its gut-wrenching special effects and be afraidvery afraid all over again.
Released in 1986, The Fly is a remake of a 1958 Vincent Price movie in which scientist Seth Brundle (Goldblum) finds himself transforming into a fly after an experiment goes wrong. Brundles experiments involve attempting to teleport live matter between two teleportation pods. Despite several failed attempts, Brudle eventually puts himself through the process, unaware that a housefly has been trapped in the pod with him.

After several years of rumors and speculation, 20th Century Fox is finally moving forward with a new remake of their 1958 sci-fi classic The Fly, which already got a well-received remake in 1986. The studio is in talks with filmmaker J.D. Dillard, whose breakout Sundance hit Sleight hits theaters next month, to direct this second remake and co-write the screenplay with his Sleight writing partner Alex Theurer. No production scedule has been set, and with J.D. Dillard and Alex Theurer already setting up another film called Sweetheart, this may not come to fruition right away.
Deadline broke the news that J.D. Dillard is in talks to direct and co-write the script, which is the first movement on this project in quite some time. Back in 2009, reports surfaced that David Cronenberg, who directed the original remake starring Jeff Goldblum, was coming back to direct a second take on the material. But that never moved forward.

Now his almost-human son continues to search for a cure for the mutated genes. But a breakthrough turns into a breakout, and anyone exposed risks turning into a monster as well...
Said Seifert:
"To be totally honest, The Fly is one of the most disturbing things I've ever seen!It was really resonant for its time. And in the last 20 years or so, with all the advances in Genetically Modified Organisms,...

Taking on a classic is a gutsy move, even for an award-winning filmmaker. And when director Kimberly Peirce signed on to re-imagine Stephen King's horror classic "Carrie," about a teenage girl with telekinetic powers hellbent on revenge, she knew she had some sky-high expectations to meet.
"I'd make a joke and say, 'I didn't give a f*ck,' but of course I felt pressure!" she told us recently while doing press for "Carrie." "But I think pressure is good."
All that pressure had Peirce thinking long and hard about what it would mean to sign on to a project of this scale, with its history and existing fan base. Having made just one film, 2008's "Stop-Loss," since her 1999 directorial debut, "Boys Don't Cry," it's clear, as a filmmaker, she doesn't make decisions lightly.
"I walked into this feeling a huge responsibility, much like I did with 'Boys Don't Cry...
