John Krasinski planned a large portion of his new movie If around longtime friend Steve Carell — before he had spoken to his former The Office co-star about the role.
At If‘s New York premiere on Monday, Krasinski gestured to wife Emily Blunt — who has a voice role in the new film — and revealed, “The last time I wrote a part for someone was for her in A Quiet Place and I was too nervous to tell her about it, and the same thing happened with Steve.”
“I was writing [animated character] Blue to be Steve because of his sense of humor and how sweet he is, and how incredibly vulnerable and also how big and open-hearted he is and he gives great hugs,” he continued. “So I was like, ‘If he doesn’t do this, we’re in trouble.’ And as soon as he said yes, it was like a family...

As Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga gears up for its world premiere later this month, in a recent interview with The Telegraph, director George Miller reflected on the feud between stars of his first movie, Mad Max Fury Road, Tom Hardy and Charlize Theron.
George Miller’s Furiosa was critically hailed after the movie’s Australian premiere this week. The film, released a decade after 2015 Mad Max: Fury Road’s massive success, is a prequel to the post-apocalyptic franchise. Despite the success, the franchise has been marred by reports of a notorious on-set feud between the stars of the first movie, Charlize Theron and Tom Hardy.

Kevin Costner is finally breaking his silence on the Yellowstone contract dispute that led to his premature exit from the hit Paramount Western Drama. The 69-year-old’s shocking exit from the biggest show on Paramount Network dominated headlines last year after reports surfaced. Shortly after, showrunner Taylor Sheridan announced that the series would end with Season 5, split into two parts.
Kevin Costner has remained tight-lipped about the dispute save for a few comments earlier this year where, to fans’ delight, he expressed interest in returning for a potential season 6. As he prepares to premiere the first part of his western epic Horizon: An American Saga at Cannes, Costner, in an interview with Deadline, provided a detailed account of what went down with the show’s producers, including Taylor Sheridan.

Bradley Cooper, who has 12 Oscar nominations, might soon add his first Primetime Emmy nod to his resume for playing himself on ABC‘s “Abbott Elementary.” ABC and awards strategists confirm to Variety that the studio has submitted the actor for guest comedy actor consideration for this year’s awards.
Earlier this year, the Television Academy changed the rules for submitting in the guest acting categories, stating, “A brief cameo appearance is not eligible for entry.” However, the vague description doesn’t explicitly state whether an actor like Cooper or even Kevin Hart, who appeared in last week’s episode playing himself over a Facetime call with Jeanine Teagues (Quinta Brunson), would constitute a cameo.
The rules further clarify the definition of a guest performer: “The minimum stand-alone and contiguous screen time for eligibility is 5% of the total running time of the submitted episode.”

Biopics are a rage in several film industries. Both the West and the Hindi film industries are tapping into stories of human beings who have achieved extraordinary things for themselves and society. Bradley Cooper in Maestro, Randeep Hooda in Swatantra Veer Savarkar, Diljit Dosanjh in Amar Singh Chamkila, and Sara Ali Khan in Ae Watan mere Watan are some of the stars who’ve recently performed in biopics. Adding to this list is Srikanth, starring Rajkumar Rao as Srikanth Bolla, who happens to be India’s visually challenged entrepreneur who set up industries that offered jobs only to physically challenged men and women. Directed by Tushar Hiranandani, the movie chronicles the life and struggles of Srikanth Bolla as he strives to be treated equally and not as a person who forever needs sympathy.
Spoilers Ahead
What happened when Srikanth was born?
Srikanth was born in 1992 in Machilipatnam, Andhra Pradesh, to a family of farmers.

Few would argue against the idea that Cate Blanchett is one of the great actresses of her generation. The sheer versatility she has displayed in her performances on film has especially made her one of the world’s most sought-after screen stars over the past three decades. For 2022, she received her eighth career Oscar nomination for “Tar.”
In 2021, in the span of just a few weeks, she displayed her signature multi-talent: For Adam McKay’s “Don’t Look Up,” Blanchett turned herself into a cable news host in the vein of Megyn Kelly or Mika Brzezinski to score major laughs in the biting comedy; for Guillermo del Toro’s “Nightmare Alley,” Blanchett transformed into a 1940s femme fatale who gets one over on an overconfident con man (Bradley Cooper).
Blanchett has two Academy Awards wins for “The Aviator” (2004) and “Blue Jasmine” (2013), prevailing as a supporting actress the first time and then as a lead.

Bradley Cooper is teaming up with PBS to produce a documentary about the millions of people who provide unpaid care to family members.
The documentary, Caregiving, is in production and is set to air in 2025 on PBS stations. Weta, the public broadcasting station in Washington, is producing the film with Cooper’s Lea Pictures and Ark Media (Finding Your Roots).
The film will examine both systemic issues within the care system — where more than 50 million Americans provide unpaid care to family members — as well as tell personal stories of people who care for loved ones.
Cooper’s involvement also stems from personal experience: “When my father was diagnosed with cancer, that was a wake-up call for me, one that really opened my eyes to the world of caregiving,” the Oscar nominee said in a statement. “Everyone will end up caring for a loved one at some point in their life.

In today’s cinematic world Jonah Hill is presumably the main young comedy actor of the 21th century, with his iconic roles in such comedies, as The 40-Year-Old Virgin (2005) and Superbad (2007) and the notorious 21 Jump Street dilogy.
What if we take his comedic talent, give his character a funny companion, just like in 21 Jump Street, and let them do unbelievably crazy things in a heated setting? We’ll receive the 2016 comedy, which is also based on real-life events.
The movie’s plot revolves around two troublesome arms dealers, Efraim Diveroli (played by Hill) and David Packouz (Miles Teller), who are sent to the Middle East to supply ammunition for the Afghan National Army during the Iraq War by a U.S. Army contract.
It may sound boring, however, be sure there are lots of high-class jokes impeccably delivered through Hill’s and Teller’s performances. Their buddy chemistry is obvious,...

John Carpenter doesn’t get the hype around Christopher Nolan’s Oscar-winning film Oppenheimer.
“Oppenheimer was Ok. It was alright,” the Master of Horror said in an interview for music journalist Larry Fitzmaurice’s Last Donut of the Night newsletter. “Everyone’s praising it as the movie of the century — I don’t know about that.”
When asked if he liked Nolan’s movies in general, Carpenter responded, “Yeah, I guess, sure.”
However, Carpenter was impressed by Bradley Cooper’s “terrific” Leonard Bernstein biopic Maestro, which he “enjoyed a great deal.”
Combined with his previous comments about Barbie, we can count Carpenter as among the relatively few moviegoers who didn’t get the Barbenheimer phenomenon as a whole. In October of last year, he said Barbie wasn’t for “my generation” and admitted the “patriarchy business” went “right over my head.”

It’s been a long time coming, but a remake of the 1994 film The Crow (which was based on the comic book series created by James O’Barr) will finally be making its way out into the world on August 23rd, which is when Lionsgate will be giving the film a theatrical release. With that release date swiftly approaching, we figured we should gather together all the information we have on this movie… and here it is, Everything We Know About The Crow Remake:
Development Hell
When the original The Crow was released, it was successful enough to spawn a franchise, with three sequels following over the next eleven years. We got The Crow: City of Angels in 1996, The Crow: Salvation in 2000, and The Crow: Wicked Prayer in 2005, with several other potential sequels (including one that would have been written and directed by Rob Zombie) being developed and scrapped along the way.

Writer-director John Krasinski’s upcoming summer movie If already looks like it will have plenty of friends when hitting theaters.
The Paramount movie is tracking to open to $40 million-plus, or a range of $38 million to $42 million, an impressive figure for an original family film. And based on raw data, some box office pundits believe it has a shot at $45 million to $50 million.
Unaided awareness is well above average, as well as interest and first choice. For Paramount, the tracking numbers show that the studio is able to keep to the job at hand, versus getting stymied by talks of a looming sale.
If‘s cast list reads like a who’s who of top Hollywood stars, led by Ryan Reynolds.

Lady Gaga cemented her status as one of music’s biggest voices and Hollywood’s brightest stars with her role in 2018′s A Star is Born.
Her portrayal of singer/songwriter Ally Maine alongside Bradley Cooper earned Gaga her first Oscar win and laid the groundwork for future roles, including Joker: Folie a Deux.
It signified the first time that Mother Monster took the lead in a blockbuster. And while she’s iconic in the role, some fans might not be aware that A Star is Born is a movie that had already been made three times before Lady Gaga was cast.
The first version of the movie was released in 1937 and starred Janet Gaynor; the second came out in 1954 with Judy Garland in the lead. Barbra Streisand took center stage in the version of the movie released in 1976.

Out of all the cars on the road today, there is perhaps no vehicle more associated with Los Angeles than the Mercedes-Benz G-Class — that tall and boxy bank-vault of an SUV which hasn’t really changed shape or size since it was first released by Mercedes-Benz in 1979 as the Geländewagen. The first G’s were made for the trades, rescue services and the military, and Mercedes-Benz likes to tout the fact that more than 80 percent of the G’s ever made are still around on and off-roading.
This all-purpose, go-anywhere vehicle has, throughout the years, had a glow-up or two — and what 45-year-old in the limelight hasn’t. But, at Los Angeles’ Franklin Canyon Park above Beverly Hills on Tuesday, April 23, Mercedes-Benz showed off their latest iteration, one which has had G-Wagen fanatics waiting on tenterhooks: the G 580 with Eq Technology, the first all-electric G-Class model.
