- Daniel De Cock was born on January 28, 1931 in Wetteren, Flanders, Belgium. He is an actor, known for Zes personages zoeken een auteur (1971), Mirandolina (1975) and De ploeg en de sterren (1975).
- With his important study 'Akteren, Bijdrage tot een metodologie van het akteren' (Acting, Contribution to a Metodology of Acting) submitted for the provincial competition for the essay and monograph 1974, he won the first prize.
- In 1958 he won the first prize for acting at the Royal Conservatory of Ghent.
- Since 1962 he was also a drama teacher at the Academy in Ghent-Ledeberg.
- He has also directed with amateur companies and in Toneelstudio 50 at the Arca Teater in Ghent.
- The fact that the former actor waited until he was 90 to publish his work has more to do with coincidence. He wrote the book when he was 63. Then he was at home, recovering from prostate cancer. First, he wrote down the 200 pages by hand and then typed out the result on an electric typewriter. His book was waiting to be printed, but I couldn't find a publisher at first.".
