- Nola Luxford was born on December 23, 1895 in Hunterville, New Zealand. She was an actress, known for Border Justice (1924), Kind Lady (1935) and The Prince of Pep (1925). She was married to Glenn Russell Dolberg and William Bauernschmidt. She died on October 10, 1994 in Pasadena, California, USA.

- Left New Zealand for Hollywood in 1919 to escape a 'family scandal'. Appeared in films under the name Nola Luxford. She made her radio debut, broadcasting reports of the 1932 Olympic Games for NBC, and became one of the first women network news announcers in New York. She also ran the Anzac Club which catered for Australian and New Zealand servicemen. Was awarded an OBE.
