    • Nicolas Freeling was born on March 3, 1927 in London, England, UK. He was a writer, known for Van der Valk (2020), Van der Valk (1972) and Because of the Cats (1973). He was married to Cornelia Termes. He died on July 20, 2003 in Mutzig, Bas-Rhin, France.

  • Served in the Royal Air Force after World War II.
  • Born in London of English parents, he lived most of his life in France and Holland.
  • After Freeling killed off his hero Van der Valk, many fans were outraged. In Sweden and France, Freeling ceased to be published.
