John Kane
John Kane was born David John Kane in Dundee, Angus, Scotland. He studied drama in Glasgow but left before graduating as he had won a place in the then new Actors Studio of the Royal Shakespeare Company. After seven years with the company we left to write two series one for BBC 1 and the second for BBC 2 both starring the comic actor Terry Scott. For the next twenty odd years he wrote various television shows both sitcoms and for children while returning to the RSC or another twelve seasons. He retired in 2006 and now lives with his wife in the South of France.
