Nandita Morarji, widely known as Nagma, is a versatile Indian actress who has left an indelible mark on Bollywood, Tollywood, and Kollywood. Born on Christmas Day to a Muslim mother, Seema Sadhana, and a Hindu father, the late textile magnate Sri Arvind Pratapsinh Morarji, Nagma's given name at birth was Nandita.

Her journey in the entertainment industry began in Bollywood, where she made her mark with the 1990 hit debut film "Baaghi: A Rebel for Love" alongside Salman Khan at the young age of 16. Despite initial success, Nagma decided to shift her focus to South Indian cinema, where she found greater success and became a dominant force in Tamil and Telugu movies during the 1990s.

Fluent in Hindi, Marathi, Telugu, Tamil, and English, Nagma showcased her acting prowess by working in various languages, including Kannada, Malayalam, Bengali, Bhojpuri, and Punjabi. Her ability to transcend language barriers highlighted her versatility as an actress.

Nagma's family background is rooted in the prestigious Dharamsinh Morarji family. Her mother, Seema Sadhana, played a significant role in Nagma's decision to pursue acting, being her constant companion on film sets. Nagma's father, Arvind Morarji, passed away in 2006, and despite the family's history of separation, she maintained a close relationship with him.

In addition to her successful film career, Nagma ventured into the world of fashion with her clothing boutique, "Nagma's," located on Mumbai's Hill Road. This venture showcased her connection to her father's background in textiles.

Despite her personal life being occasionally marred by controversies and romantic linkages, Nagma remains single and has expressed a cautious approach towards marriage, stating that she would only consider it with the perfect man.

Nagma's career trajectory took her back to Mumbai, where she transitioned into supporting roles in Bollywood hits like "Chal Mere Bhai" (2000), sharing the screen with Karisma Kapoor, Salman Khan, and Sanjay Dutt. However, she continued to contribute significantly to Telugu and Tamil cinema, even taking on leading roles in Malayalam films.

Her spiritual journey led her to enroll in the Art of Living course, and she eventually became a teacher of the course. Alongside her acting career, Nagma actively participated in political campaigns, notably campaigning for the Congress party in Bihar and Jharkhand.

In recent years, Nagma has become a major star in Bhojpuri cinema, earning accolades for her performances and winning a Best Actress award at the 2005 Bhojpuri Film Awards. She has successfully navigated different film industries, proving her mettle as an actress in various languages.
