

Kiss of Life‘s agency is apologizing.
The K-pop girl group’s agency has issued a formal apology following controversy over a video posted to their YouTube on Wednesday (April 2).
In the video, member Julie celebrated her birthday with an “old school hip hop” concept.
The group immediately faced backlash online, with many social media users accusing the group of racism and perpetuating Black stereotypes through their clothing and mannerisms with the event.

On April 3, S2 Entertainment released the following statement in English.
“Hello, This is S2 Entertainment. We’d like to address the issues that arose from the content that was uploaded on Kiss Of Life’s official YouTube yesterday (April 2),” they began.
“We sincerely apologize for causing discomfort to our viewers. The true purpose of the content was to celebrate hip hop culture, which serves as much of the musical inspiration for Kiss Of Life.

Starring Arjo Atayde and Julia Montes, the Tagalog-language film had its world premiere at Locarno film festival in 2023 and has been touring other festivals over the past year. Justin Timberlake, Nelly Furtado and Timbaland are releasing a brand new track.
Timbaland took to Instagram to confirm the musical trio — who last released “Give It to Me” in 2007 — would be dropping their latest track next week.
“We Back @nellyfurtado @justintimberlake Da King Has Return !!!! 09/1/23,” Timbaland captioned the video shared on social media.

Exclusive: Filipina acting and singing star Lovi Poe has launched her own production company called C’est Lovi Productions.
The company will have a special focus on showcasing Filipino stories and artists in the international marketplace and already has projects on the boil.
They include Lady Luck, written by Los Angeles-based duo Geordie Kieffer and Mitch Toler, in which Poe is set to star. U.K. director Niall Johnson (White Noise) is attached to direct. The feature is currently in pre-production.
Other projects in development include the psychological thriller Alyssa to which Filipino filmmaker Jerrold Tarog is attached to write and direct. Tarog’s past credits include the 2016 Philippine-American war drama Heneral Luna and Netflix acquisition Gogo: The Boy General.
Montgomery Blencowe will partner with Poe as an executive of the company.
Poe is the daughter of late Filipino acting legend Fernando Poe Jr has built a flourishing career in her own right.
