David Pomeranz
David Pomeranz is a Multi Platinum award-winning Recording Artist, Songwriter and Concert Performer whose recording projects have sold over 40 million copies worldwide. His songs have been recorded by Artists as varied as Barry Manilow, (including the #1 hit,"Tryin' to Get the Feeling Again"), Freddie Mercury, Bette Midler, Missy Elliott, The Carpenters, Richie Sambora, The Muppets, Kenny Rogers and Phoebe Snow and his song projects have amassed a total of twenty-two platinum and eighteen gold albums. As Composer and Lyricist, David's songs have been featured in numerous Feature Films and Television series and his Stage Musicals have played on Broadway and London's West End.

Born in New York City and raised on Long Island, at age 9, he sang solos in the Synagogue choir, learned to play piano, guitar and drums, and was writing and recording songs by the age of 14. At 19 he was signed by MCA/Decca for two albums and began touring the country as the opening act for Rod Stewart, Billy Joel, Three Dog Night and The Doors, among others.

An Emmy Award Nominee, his songs have been featured on Will & Grace (1998), The Leftovers (2014), "The Summer Olympic Games: Seoul, 1998", Boston Legal (2004) and American Idol (2002) and he created the theme songs for both the classic PBS Peabody Award-winning Children's series, Zoobilee Zoo (1986) and Hello Kitty's Furry Tale Theater (1987). David composed the score for Showtime's Documentary, Elvis Presley's Graceland (1984) and, as a vocalist, his was the voice heard each week singing the theme to the much-loved hit ABC series, Perfect Strangers (1986). Billboard Magazine described David as "...one of our finer voices."

David's songs have appeared in movies including Big (1988), King Kong (1976) (for which he penned the lyrics to John Barry's haunting theme), "Fire Down Below" and "Man, Woman, and Child" (with Composer Georges Delerue). He wrote the End Title theme for the award-winning Sundance documentary, As Seen Through These Eyes (2008) and, in collaboration with composer, Alan Williams, wrote lyrics for the soundtracks of The Princess and the Pea (2002) and [error]. In 2019, David and Alan were honored with an Award for "Best Song - Short Subject" by the Hollywood Music in Media Awards for their work on the animated short, Mykonos Blue (2019). In 2022, David and Kathie Lee Gifford wrote a series Inspirational songs for the Feature Film, The Way (2022), including "Jehova Elohim ", performed by Christian superstar Danny Gokey. The Way (2022) premiered in 1000 theaters across the U.S in September of 2022.

From childhood, David had a love for Musical Theater. In 1983, he was asked by Producer Dave Clark to contribute songs for his first Theater project: the West End Musical, "Time", which starred Cliff Richard and Sir Laurence Olivier and ran for two years at the Dominion Theatre. A celebrity album of the songs from, "TIME", was released on EMI Records featuring the two stars, Dionne Warwick, Stevie Wonder, Julian Lennon, Leo Sayer and others.

David's next Theater project was as Composer, Lyricist (and co-Book Writer with Emmy-Winner, Steven David Horwich) for a musical based on the life of Charles Chaplin entitled, "Little Tramp". The 1992 U.K. premiere was the inspiration for a celebrity studio recording of the featured songs from the show on Warner Bros. Records which starred Richard Harris, Mel Brooks,Petula Clark, Tim Curry, Treat Williams, , Peter Duncan, Lea Salonga and David, himself.

His musical adaptation of the Dickens classic, "A Tale of Two Cities" (with music by David, lyrics by Steven Horwich and book by Horwich and David Soames) premiered at the Alexandria Theater in Birmingham, and at the Queens Theater in Windsor (produced by legendary Producer, Bill Kenwright and starring Paul Nicholas). In 2012, "A Tale of Two Cities" premiered at The Charing Cross Theatre in London's West End.

In 2005, David composed the music to Kathie Lee Gifford's book and lyrics for "Under the Bridge", a new Musical that opened Off-Broadway at the Zipper Theater and, in 2012, David and Kathie Lee (along with Composer, David Friedman) created the Tony-nominated, "Scandalous" which opened on Broadway at the Neil Simon Theater starring Carolee Carmello and George Hearn. (The Cast Album of "Scandalous" is available on Sony/Shout! Records.)

David's newest Musical,"The Kiss" (developed in association with Oscar-winning Animator, Will Vinton), had its World Premiere in 2022 at The Lakewood Theater in Portland, Oregon.

Newly released is David's Video podcast interview series, SongSessions with David Pomeranz (2021), where David "talks shop" with iconic songwriters such as Richard Marx, Melissa Manchester, David Shire, Barry Mann, Paul Williams, Barry Manilow, Barry Manilow, Felix Cavaliere, David Zippel, Alan Bergman and Jim Peterik. The video podcast can be seen on: www.davidpomeranz.com/songsessions and the audio version can be heard via Spotify and Podbean.

The new album, "You're The Inspiration", a remix of an album of some of David's favorite love song covers, was released on March 1, 2023.
