At the age of 15, Deborah met director Elia Kazan at The Guthrie Theater
in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Mr. Kazan urged Deborah to come to
Hollywood.
Studied acting with Jeff Corey from 1973-1975.
Mentored as a screenwriter by the late Blake Edwards.
Directed her first feature film at the age of 31.
Optioned the first screenplay she ever wrote at the age of 28.
In the middle of a successful writing career, Deborah stopped pursuing studio writer-for-hire assignments or "development hell" as they call it to study the art of writing and hone her craft as a screenwriter. She has never regretted the decision.
Published Vincent the Artist - Book One - Vincent leaves Home, a children's book based on her feature film screenplay.
