Amy Sohn grew up in Brooklyn, graduated Brown University, and in 1996 began writing a column for New York Press about her love life called "Female Trouble." The column was adapted into a novel, Run Catch Kiss, which was published by Simon and Schuster in 1999 and by Scribner Paperback in 2000. The film Spin the Bottle, for which she wrote the screenplay, completed production in 1997.
