    • Charlotte von Mahlsdorf was born on March 18, 1928 in Berlin, Germany. He was an actor and writer, known for Coming Out (1989), Unterwegs nach Atlantis (1977) and I Am My Own Woman (1992). He died on April 30, 2002 in Berlin, Germany.

  • A German transvestite whose life is the subject of a Broadway play "I Am My Own Wife" written by Doug Wright. Play won the 2004 Pulitzer Prize for drama.
  • In 2007, Charlotte was portrayed by Dominique Horwitz in the stage play "Ich mach ja doch, was ich will", the German adaptation of the play by Doug Wright, written by Frank Heibert and directed by Torsten Fischer.
