His numerous couplings with singer Margaret Whiting at post-war Capitol Records
proved memorable with "Slipping Around," "Broken Down Merry-Go-Round"
and the Christmas classic "Silver Bells."
Made his first public singing appearance in the Royal Theatre, located in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma. At the time Jimmie was living in one of the little country towns of either Byars or Rosedale, Oklahoma.
He was awarded a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for Recording at 1680 Vine Street in Hollywood, California.
