- (2015) Book: "Between Two Worlds - a Detective Hoban novel" Amazon Kindle received an honorary mention at the San Francisco Book Festival, May 2015. Of this book, US reviewer M Stevens-David says Right from the very first chapter, I was mesmerized by this very tightly woven mystery. Set in England, this fast paced novel carries the reader along with the its chief criminal investigator, "Detective Dennis Hoban" through what becomes a personal "never-give-up search" for a murderer of one young girl and the search for another missing girl. The story plot is well-thought out and executed and I personally found that I hated to put the novel down for any reason. This author, J.C. Woodrow , has done her research and it is clearly evident in how well this novel is put together. Personally, as a fellow author/writer, I envy her ability to tell a difficult story in such a clear, believable fashion and I hated to see the story end. Will I recommend this novel to others? ABSOLUTELY!!! Martha Stevens-David, Reviewer, ME, USA
