There may be no more natural pairing for CMT Crossroads than Nickelback and Hardy. Both appeal to country and rock audiences, both worked with producer Joey Moi, and both have a song called “Rockstar.” On April 6, they’ll mash up their respective styles — and their “Rockstar” singles — for an episode of CMT’s crossover performance series.
Recorded in Nashville earlier in March, the episode features Hardy and Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger trading verses on Nickelback’s “Save Me” and “Animals,” and Hardy hits “Truck Bed” and “Give Heaven Some Hell.

Hardy will spend the early summer months on the road as the Nashville country rocker has announced his “Quit!!” Tour.
In addition to mapping out the trek’s 15 dates, Hardy has also shared a new spoken word track also called “Quit!!” that harkens back to his 2022 ACM Honors speech, during which he related an incident where someone put a note that read “Quit!!” in the then-fledgling singer’s tip jar.

Billy Ray Cyrus and Firerose have officially taken their love to the red carpet. The country couple, who got engaged in November 2022, made their first public appearance at the 2023 Academy of Country Music (ACM) Honors in Nashville on Aug. 23. The pair rocked cowboy hats with black outfits - though Firerose looked particularly stylish in glittery cowgirl boots and a multicolor sequin jacket.
After the pair walked the carpet, they performed a song together alongside singer Travis Denning during the ceremony, though it's currently not known what song they performed as there's no video from the event.
Billy and Firerose's debut red carpet appearance comes just days after Billy's ex-wife of 23 years, Tish Cyrus, wed her now-husband, Dominic Purcell, on Aug. 19 in Malibu. Her children Miley, Brandi, and Trace Cyrus were by her side on her big day, but her two other children with Billy, Noah and Braison Cyrus, were notably absent.

The 2021 Academy of Country Music Awards aren’t until April 18, but on April 8 they announced a couple of the ACM Awards winners early: Jimmie Allen as New Male Artist of the Year and Gabby Barrett as New Female Artist of the Year. In addition to their victories, they’re also joining the list of performers scheduled to appear during the broadcast. Watch ACMs host Keith Urban surprise the winners with the news here and here.
This was the second nomination in this category for Allen, who defeated Cody Johnson, Hardy, Parker McCollum, and Travis Denning. His victory makes him the first Black winner ever in his category at a time when the country music industry has been confronted with how overwhelmingly white the genre has been over the course of its history. The ACM ceremony itself will be co-hosted by Mickey Guyton, who is the first Black woman ever to emcee the event.

Jimmie Allen and Gabby Barrett were named the best new male and female artists of the year by the Academy of Country Music in pre-telecast reveals posted Thursday morning.
Both artists were pictured opening up video cards from ACM Awards co-host Keith Urban and being shocked by the news. Allen was handed his as “something that arrived in the mail” in a studio control booth. “You’re just playin’!” he exulted after watching Urban’s video proclamation.
Barrett, sitting at a conference room table, was just a little more expectant when opening her video card:”Oh my God! Now I know why you told me to put on my makeup and get dressed.”
Giving these awards out early isn’t just a way to knock some categories off early and leave more time on the three-hour CBS telecast for performances, although it is performance-related. As Urban noted in his video messages,...

Producers of the 2020 Cmt Music Awards belatedly unveiled the list of nominees for the long-postponed telecast, and among the leading contenders, there was a six-way tie for first. Three nominations apiece went to Dan + Shay, Ashley McBryde, Luke Combs, Kelsea Ballerini, Thomas Rhett and Sam Hunt.
Artists with two nominations each are Carrie Underwood, Miranda Lambert, Kane Brown, Gabby Barrett, Blanco Brown, Little Big Town, Old Dominion and the Chicks.
Initial nominations for the top prize, video of the year, are always unusually crowded, as the Cmt Awards start with a list of 14 nominees that’ll be whittled down to five prior to the Oct. 21 telecast. The first round of fan voting among those 14 finalists will stop on Oct. 12 at noon, with the whittled down list of five finalists announced shortly after that, as voting reopens. The other categories mostly have a more wieldy six nominations from the get-go.

A stormy account of a physical attraction that just won’t quit, the brooding mid-tempo tune is shot through with longing and shadowy regret, rather than your typical warm-weather optimism. The Warner Robins, Georgia, native penned the song with writers Kelly Archer and Justin Weaver, and says he was floored by Archer’s idea to have the melody start off high with the tension ratcheted all the way up.
