Monique N. Matthews is a multi-talented writer, director and actor. Hailing from Harlem, New York, she brings a renaissance approach to story-telling, embodying whatever creative skill-set is needed to bring the most authentic and compelling version of a story to life. She holds three degrees, all from UCLA, including a Master of Fine Arts in Film and Television and a Master of Arts in African American Studies. In 2022, Monique received a NAACP Image Award nomination for Outstanding Writing In A Television Movie for A Holiday In Harlem. She recently directed and co-wrote the award-winning social action documentary Birthing Justice.
