Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 developed by Insomniac Games received critical acclaim after its release in October 2023. The game is the third entry in the developer’s Marvel’s Spider-Man series. It has sold over ten million units to become a major commercial success. In the game, Yuri Lowenthal voices the character of Peter Parker / Spider-Man, who must deal with Kraven the Hunter and Venom symbiote.

The game ends on an ambiguous note that implies Miles Morales will become the primary focus of the series moving forward. In a recent interview, Lowenthal spoke about Peter Parker’s future and whether the Og Spider-Man would be taking a step back from his web-crawling adventures. Here is what Lowenthal revealed about plans for future games in the series.

For Yuri Lowenthal, Insomniac’s Spider-Man 2 was a case of real life colliding with fiction. In the game, he worked with his wife, Tara Platt, who voices Captain Yuri Watanabe. And he became close with actor Nadji Jeter, who plays young Spider-Man/Miles Morales.
“My real-life relationship with Nadji, at various times, would echo the relationship that we have in the game,” Lowenthal tells The Hollywood Reporter. “I think that just comes from me being a lot older than him and maybe having acted longer. But it just started to grow that way with us in real life, too.”
The game also included some dark moments for Peter, via his relationship with the symbiote.
“I was drained at the end of sessions, because it was hard pushing Peter and that character into a very unfamiliar and mean place,” says the actor.

Actors Appreciate George Clooney’s SAG Proposal but Say ‘It’s a Little Bit of Union-Busting’ (Video)
While many SAG-AFTRA members appreciate George Clooney’s $50 million suggestion that he and other A-listers cover the union dues of lower-earning actors as a way to resolve the actors’ strike, some felt it was irrelevant at best and, at worst, “a bit of union-busting.” They said he could make a much bigger impact by showing up at a picket line.
“I think that the idea of raising the caps for that level of entertainer is an incredible idea. I totally agree with it,” said “Two Broke Girls” actress Alexandra Ryan on the picket line at Paramount Studios on Monday.
However, she added, “I think that it’s a sidestep to what we’re trying to do right now. And I also think that there’s a bit of inadvertent union-busting to the proposal. I don’t agree with that piece of it.”

Fire Emblem fans have plenty of reasons to be excited about the recently-released Fire Emblem Engage. Not only is it the latest entry into the famous strategy franchise, but it’s really a return to form for Fire Emblem after the series experimented with a few different ideas. It also features a massive roster of characters voiced by some pretty notable actors.
Seriously, Engage’s voice cast is impressive. It’s one thing to boast a roster of named and notable characters quite so large, and it’s quite another to give most of those characters their own name and voice. While you may only recognize the names of a few Fire Emblem voice actors on paper, you’ll almost certainly recognize many of them the moment you hear them in-game.
So whether you can’t quite place why that name is so familiar, or you just want a little...

The first ever Geekie Awards took place on Aug. 18 in Los Angeles. Created by self-professed geek Kristen Nedopak, the awards ceremony seeks to honor the independent filmmakers, artists and creators active in the geek world.
It's no surprise then that Nathan Fillion and Stan Lee were awarded top honors during the ceremony. Fillion was named Geek of the Year, while Lee earned a lifetime achievement award. Since Fillion wasn't able to attend the awards show, Samm Levine, Natasha Melnick and Sarah Hagan instead presented the award to Jesse Heiman, who gave his best Fillion impression. Meanwhile, Seth Green presented Lee his award. In addition, the Nasa Jpl Mars Curiosity Rover team was given the Geek Cred award.
Present at the awards show were Tara Platt, who served as main announcer, and presenters Richard Hatch, Grant Imahara and Magda Apanowicz, among others. Here are the rest of the night's winners:

Being part of a "loop group" is a coveted gig in the voice-acting world. Feature films and TV series alike use such performers."It's like an audio puzzle -- it's so fun!" says actor Erin Matthews. "We all pile into a large sound studio with the sound editor and the director. They have all the scenes cued up that need looping. Party scenes, restaurants, street scenes -- basically we're voicing the background artists in a given scene. They play the scene and use a laser pointer to point out any noticeable mouth flaps that they need, and the loop group coordinator 'casts' according to the various voices available."Improvisation skills are important, but loop-group actors may also be called on to do preparatory homework, according to actor Tara Platt. "Certain directors will have you watch the material in advance while others tell you the types of scenarios that will be looped.

Fullmetal Alchemist Premium Ova Collection One of the best things about anime is the “omake”, or extras — also known as that stuff at the end of the tape. Long before DVD’s with their menu of special features, in the dark ages of VHS, anime fans were being treated to a smorgasbord of little goodies — from previews to music videos to something as simple as a visual catalog of a company’s other titles — pretty much anything the studio could find to throw on the last few minutes of a video tape. It was one of the things that made anime, well, anime. Lately we’re seeing fewer extras, as the industry and the economy as a whole have been forced to makes some painful cuts to stay alive. But if you’re longing for some of those good old days, not to worry. Funimation is about to release an entire collection of bonus material,...

If you're a performer — even an established and regularly working actor — who has thought about making the transition into screenplay writing, don't expect to garner immediate respect, let alone enthusiasm, within the industry. "No one ever takes an actor seriously when they're writing," says Danny Strong, who broke through as a scenarist this year with HBO's Emmy-winning Recount. "It's like, 'Okay, that's cute — you go do whatever you're gonna go do.' I mean, it seems no one takes anyone seriously in Hollywood until something actually happens. And then everyone takes it seriously — very, very quickly." In a sense, however, actors are writers to begin with. Whenever they devise backstories or improvise on the life of a character during rehearsals, they are in essence collaborating with a playwright or screenwriter to flesh out a characterization. Some actors, like Strong, take the next step and begin writing their own scripts, sometimes...
