Madeleine Lemay

"If there has been a through-line in Madeleine's roaming lifestyle it has been the theatre, which has always provided her with the fantasy and escapism she so often transposes in her design work. Growing up in Minnesota with a Quebecois background, she started improvisational theatre workshops at the age of four and she continued this exploration of the theatrical world when her family moved to the UK. She went on to perform at the Royal Variety theatre, but also discovered a passion for fashion thanks to Vivienne Westwood, where her imagination was excited by the luxurious materials she used. Back to Minnesota and then on to France she still sings and dances, loving her fast-paced life, but now her whimsy and curiosity are channeled into her brand, where she performs a tightrope walk act between trashy and classy, always juggling ideas, still performing."
