After her beginnings as an actress at Fert, she won in 1955 a competition that guaranteed her a place at Rai (which at the time had its only headquarters in Turin) and a scholarship at the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia, where she shared courses with future film stars such as Giuseppe De Santis (who coined her nickname Dada) and Michelangelo Antonioni.
