After receiving a film degree from the University of Central Florida, Justin went on to attend the American Film Institute (AFI) where he received his Masters in Screenwriting. Upon graduating, Justin began to collaborate with Charlie McDowell on several projects. Their partnership culminated with the film "The One I Love", which starred Mark Duplass and Elisabeth Moss. The film premiered at the 2014 Sundance Film Festival, where it was purchased for distribution. For his efforts, Justin was nominated for an Independent Spirit Award for Best First Screenplay.
Justin and Charlie went on to complete their second feature film "The Discovery" in April of 2016. Jason Segel, Rooney Mara, Jesse Plemons, Riley Keough and Robert Redford starred.
In 2020 Justin developed the story for Windfall with Charlie McDowell, Jason Segel, and Andrew Kevin Walker. Justin and Andrew co-wrote the screenplay. The screenplay was produced in 2021 - starring Lily Collins, Jesse Plemons, and Jason Segel. Windfall was purchased by Netflix and released March 18th 2022.
